the colors of spring

Ask any person to describe the colors of spring and I'd guess the answers are pretty consistent. Daffodil yellow, new grass green, and robin's egg blue, just to name a few. But in our world at least, there's another color to add to spring's palette, and it's called tummy pink.

Yes, for us humans, the colorful blooms and warming sun means spring has officially begun, but for the kielbasa, it's all about the start of tummy tanning season. Yesterday, Baxter took a break from hunting squirrels, to roast in the sun and start browning that little belly. Ahh, ain't life rough?

I can't even get the Honey girl (GSD) to take a break from the squirrels for long enough to poop!! The rabbits are out too. I think I might need some new track cleats just to be able to walk these dogs in spring.

me likey da sunshine! hee - BOL! or as i like 2 say, hyuk hyuk hyuk hyuk! hmm, i wonder if dad wants to watch bugs bunny cartoons. mom always says it seems like a good idea til they're on and then it's like, why did I think it was a good idea? me, i just think they are funny, and i want to work on my comedy routine so i like taking notes.

maybe molly girl can help set honey straight. every dog needs to take time and smell the sunshine! :)

Tulip is obsessed with the squirrels. Maybe if we stayed out a bit longer. It is still a little nippy out here.

Winnie likes to warm her belly in the sun but she's already kind of brown. Sammy on the other hand won't lay down for very long in the sun - he's afraid that something is going to get him so he'll get a little pink and then head back inside.

look at that BELLY!!! *kiss*kiss*kiss*kiss*kiss*kiss*kiss*kiss*

hmm we don't have belly pink here. But we measure spring by dirty muddy paws and by the length of time they stay out and when you have a clean paw after you come inside after sniffing all bushes in the yard, you know summer is here :D

Tummy tanning! I can't wait for it to warm up enough here for me to do some of that. You are one lucky boy to be able do get tanning time in early March. You and I are the only ones I know of that refer to this a tummy tanning...
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and that your Momma isn't starving you!

We love taking sun baths too. And if my mom can't take us outside we like to find a nice sunny patch next to a window to lie down on. Perfection! But we think you've got the right idea with this tummy tanning thing. We are going to have to give it a try.

Winnie is about 11 and Sammy is about 6. They're both rescued so I'm not exactly sure. She is starting to lose her eyesight and hearing but she's still super healthy.
