snooty booty

I get the feeling if tiny chumley had his way, he would go everywhere with me. He'd be my little buddy dog, camped out by the meat section of the grocery store when not snitching samples from the deli, stuck to me like glue when we roam the aisles of the family friendly fabric store, and dutifully standing guard of my basket while I dug around in the bins at the thrift store like I did the other day. How I wish I really could take Baxter with me everywhere I go, cuz then I wouldn't ultimately face this when I get back home, after the excitement of my return wears off. Mister Perturbed Ears. Mister I thought we were friends and friends stick together. Mister Snootypants.

Luckily, Baxter's bout with Mr Snootypants fades pretty quickly, and life gets back to being happy go lucky for this little boy. It's hard, really, to stay scowly when there are so many new things to smell. Like all the swell stuff I scored this week at the thrift store. Old suitcases, wooden bowls, coolio neckties, sturdy cigar boxes, and even a pretty cup or two. Wooty woot!

We would like to go with our Mom everywhere, too. :) One lady at her church brings her dog with her. Sometimes it even snores!! We aren't allowed to go because we would bark at everyone... plus we are not "bag dogs".

I also wish I could take Dexter everywhere. I miss him even on a short trip to the store. He is my child, why shouldn't I get to take him? Boooo.

What can I say ... we ate at a restaurant with all three dogs in tow last night. In Chicago, dogs are allowed in the outdoor cafes. There are also a number of stores which welcome them, although I usually only take Molly on those occasions. My husband takes Max (the GIANT GSD) everywhere though - Max goes in the bank and the hardware store and various and sundry other locations. We've put a lot of work into training them though; I can leave Max on a down stay with me out of his sight for 15 minutes, no problem. However, I have to pick up Molly and carry her along with me. That is, Molly neither downs nor stays - unless we rope her to Max!

I sure like your "Salty" and "Peppery" shakers :-)

hee - maybe molly should ride on top of max!! i surreptitiously took Baxter once into the hardware store because it had gotten hotter out than I thought it would get (back in the springtime), and he was such a cutie pie, lying low in the shopping cart and being a good boy. can you believe it's like my second or third set of salty and pepperies? One of these days I gotta get around to frankensteining them into a new creation.

Hi Nevaeh! Good luck with the blog! I'll be sure to check in again soon. What kind of dog are you? :)

I am very well acquainted with grouchy ears. Flash gives them to us every time we leave as well. They know how to work them against us.

Oh my GOSH .. I want to go thrift shopping with you TOO!! Did you pick up the Salty and Peppy Shakers in your photo? I have a set but they are not in as nice condition as your photographed ones are. I collect all things vintage kitty when I can find them. Love them. Looks like you had a great time even if boyfriend Bax was a bit miffy about not getting to go. So glad he got over it quickly. Like he could ever go without Momma love for too long eh?

You know you've made me think. Perhaps I'll create a blog about my vintage kitty things. Before my Dachsies they were my passion. Well they still are but my Weens have taken over lately. Hehe :)
