permission please

Those who have followed kalyxcornucopia for a while now know that I started this blog mostly on a lark, to give warm and happy pauses in an otherwise seemingly 24/7 workweek for Big Boyfriend, to share stories and pictures of everyday cuteness that is our little boy Baxter. There is no charge to visit, no money being made based on clicks or cookies or anything of the sort. No annoying "relevant" ads, nothing here I don't really believe in, and no money being made without providing for an honest day's work - like say a nice doggie dud or a flapjack hat. It's the real deal at kalyxcornucopia.blogspot.com, and that's the way I like it.

So I was disappointed to find out from our friend Sugar that a few other sources are now reposting kalyxcornucopia blogposts without having obtained permission of any sort, leeching in such a manner that I find truly reprehensible in both its misrepresentation and shameless demonstration of creative sloth. And, most concerning of all, exposing readers to possible spam, cookies, viruses, and other such unwanted ills. And that I cannot tolerate at all in this special and very tiny corner of the universe.

The facts are simple. If you're reading this from a generic pet website, or any site that ends in .info, it was stolen. Used without permission, and endangering you and your computer in ways I would have never ever supported. It simply is not safe, and I ask you to find us directly, or through well established and well protected blog directories, or via facebook. For your sanity, and for mine. :)

It's a real shame that you have to do this type of disclaimer at all. I hope anyone who sees this takes note.

ha, and the real shame of it? if only they knew how many dozens of followers I don't have! tomorrow i am monkeying with my feeds so if something looks screwy for posts or it's not where you expect it, be patient and also let me know here or on FB. The other guys collect their own comments and anything input there i don't see unless I visit their site.

Did you happen to e-mail the admin for the "blog" that's copied your stuff? I think that's just *bleepy* that people do that.

OMC... It's disgusting that someone would steal your posts. I've never heard about .info sites. Point me in the right direction and I'll take care of it for you. In the meantime.... Thanks for posting this and have a wonderful day...

pawhugs to you and to Baxter...

that is disgusting. Some people just have no respect for the arts. Writing or creative work, just the same.

i wonder how many of my photographs are actually being used online without me knowing. I'd rather not know actually. :\

Hi - we came over from Sugar's place and are so horrified to read about these outright criminal behaviors. We will make a post soon, as Sugar asked, in support of those whose blogs have been stolen. Blantantly horrible. On the good side, we are glad to meet you and hope we can become bloggie pals!
Hugs xoxoxo

thanks everybody! i really didn't want to have to go there with this post but it seemed the most direct way to contact the owner. who did email me and was sorry that i was mad (different than being sorry for the action, i know) and offered to remove whatever i wanted to remove, which of course was everything. trying to get something for nothing is totally different than getting nothing for something. hopefully there was a lesson learned for him in there too. back to regular programming tomorrow!! :)

that is awful this happened to you! it is really awful that we have to protect something like our blog posts. this is supposed to be a fun and safe thing to do, some people are terrible.

We came over from Sugar's bloggy. People like the ones you are barking about make the blogosphere and creepy place for the rest of us. It is always better to ask and if you hear 'no' you should just respect that and move on. Sad, sad, sad.
