little boy blue

Little boy and his little nose boo boo took a turn as Little Boy Blue yesterday, trying his best to model a big dog flapjack hat I custom made for Midge, who I'm sure will wear it much better on her pretty little big dog head.

oooo a big dog? how big is she mom?

Well, I couldn't say, Baxter. But she's a labradoodle if that helps.

a labradoodle!, the little kielbasa's eyes did repeat in astonished fashion. well i'll be.....

Now hold still so we can take a picture and post it to Etsy for Midge's reserved listing.

mom, if midge can be part cheez doodle then can i be a doxiefry?

Hee hee. I'm sorry baby dog but it doesn't work that way.

oh... well can i still have a french fry? the little kielbasa optimistically inquired.

Sorry baby dog, we do not have any.  But how bout a nice milkbone snackie??

yippee! yes please!! :)

And such was the end of our crafty day.

expressive eyes

Sometimes I wonder how tiny chumley feels about being our dog, of being endlessly cuddled and petted and loved beyond words. "Oh baby dog, how'd you end up so kuh-YOOT?" we always ask him practically every day while squeezing his little sausagey body into ours as we hold him tightly, smooshing our face into his while kissing his soft little cheek.

o i dunno, his eyes will often reply, i guess i was born that way. can u let me down now?

Sigh. Yes baby dog. But give me another thirty seconds.

flapjacks n duds: the pittsburgh penguins hockey girl

Whee, today a peekypoo at a couple of little somethings I just finished for Annabelle's mom to put under the Christmas tree for her lovely girl, whom we last saw as the lucky recipient of the lady in red. Now, Annabelle already had a nice winter coat, but this little lady needed a coordinating flapjack hat. A bit of navy babywale corduroy, glass beads, and one vintage 70s necktie later, her hat was done.

Little chum was eager as he always is to snackies model Annabelle's next gift, especially since it was a bit more unisex than Annabelle's other dud. This time, I had the pleasure of making her Pittsburgh Penguins inspired dud, so she can show her spirit just like everyone else in her family come game day!

Whooo hoo. Yes, it's probably time that the little chum himself also get a new dud, especially since his chest has gotten bulkier this past year with all that muscle weight. So sometime soon, a new blaze orange dud! Ooo, maybe just in time for Santa to put under the tree this Christmas. Happy Thursday! :)

etsy peekypoo: the elfin fudd flapjack snackie hat & more

Hey, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter reporting to u today from my mom's etsy shop. Cuz u guessed it, there are some swell new hats and I wanted to model them for you.

First, a peekypoo at the elfin fudd, modeled here to show how an undersized hat can be worn on an oversized head for maximum cuteness and comfort.

Then there's the santa fudd, all festive and red and full of cheer, and just like the elfin fudd, complete with refillable milkbone snackie! Mmm snackie. I really like the idea of a spare snackie close by, especially if I gotta wear a hat, u know?

And yeah, there's this pink faux bunny fur hat that mom had me wear, which i gotta say i really liked cuz it was so soft, u know? But uh, it's not for me personally cuz, well I'm a boy and duk duk would never let me live that down. The fake bunny fur I mean. When I should be able to hunt my own, you know?

Speaking of bunnies, even though there are a few more hats I should model, I think it's time I chase one, so thanks for reading my report! This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing you the happiest of Mondays! :)

Tomorrow & Sat, more double posties! :)

PS - I don't knit, but I sure wish I did when I run across something like this from Amoena & JR's knitting blog (thanks for visiting, Amoena)! totally gonna mess with serged cashmere again over the holidays so lil chum can have a happy hoodie neckie thingy! :)

nanooked

Some modeling fun for the little kielbasa yesterday, who was more than happy to pose for Etsy pictures in exchange for rawhide and snackies. Little Elmer Fudd and Elmer Fuddette flapjack hats, to welcome the crisp cold air of autumn.

Miss out on the kalyxcraftopia Etsy shop listings? Don't worry, hoping to put more in the shop in a few weeks! :)
