tiny viney rewindy videos: jaunty

There are times when I wonder what will come of all our posts here in cyberspace many years from now.  All our pictures and videos of the things we have done and places we have gone, and all the conversations about things both monumental and mundane.

As much as I wish it wouldn't, I think at some point, our conversations here in cyberspace will inevitably fragment,  and the words and meaning that we meant to be included with our images will part ways with each other, drifting apart on random and meandering magnetic journey.  I can only hope as the years go by long after Baxter is gone and my little boy's image surface and resurface like a buoy in the ocean, that all who see him will know, he was and always will be a happy and very much loved little boy, not only by us, but all of you.   Thank you, my friends, for all your kind birthday wishes.  And I certainly hope that there will be many many more birthdays to celebrate :)

the enchanted forest :)

Hey, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today about some the wonderful things I saw on my 5 mile hike through the enchanted forest ...

...Like trees that were kissing and woodpeckers that were totally made of wood..

..and bark that grew words on them and trees that grew sideways before growing upright.  And skeletony bone root fingers growing on the surface of the ground like giant hands preparing to reach our and grab you.

In fact, there were so many cool things to see in the enchanted forest, I can hardly understand why some people might think the most enchanting thing to see was this, just outside the enchanted forest...

Hee hee, I did not stay in it for long by the way.  There were too many things to sniff. Like, um, this

Anyhoo, my hike the enchanted forest was very nice and I hope u would consider taking one too very soony soon!  This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing you a supertastic Saturday! :)

dachtoberfest

Well hello my friends, it's me Baxter, your roving rover reporter. Today I am reporting to you on scenes from my super fun visit to the Dachtoberfest, and I am doing it completely from my iPhoney, so u know, things will look like they look. Are u ready? Okay here we go..

First all u know there is always wonderful shopping for doxie stuff. This nice lady has an etsy shop whose name I will have to get u later because I left our bag in the car, but for sure mom says u will want to know it because her work is very nice and well priced.

These are some lovely doxie ornaments and in retrospect maybe I should have gotten mom the felty one so we could put it on my tree.  oopsie. But I will tell you why it was so easy to forget in just a moment.

So it is very easy to forget about things because as u might imagine, there are plenty of tushies to sniff! I posted this on Instagram yesterday.

And here is a new picture of some other new and supercute friends I made. I do not know their names but I know their tushies smelled wonderful.  And I think I smelled pretty good to them. :)

There was a lovely exhibit that I would highly recommend and let me just give u a tiny peek at its super awesomeness.

Hee hee yup that's right, a plastic poop display at the pooper picker upper people booth! it was missing a few of the more advanced forms like flying crane and the arrow anaconda but it was still nice to see mushy pretzel and swirlyqueen. The only thing that would have made it better is if the items were scratch and sniff.

So unfortunately I could not stay for the dachshund races because I wanted to visit my friends madwilly and honeybear and Sammy but I did get to see another race.  Well, a practice race but the kind where u r only racing yourself and it was very captivating.

Unfortunately he did not poop otherwise I would have reported on that too because I am certain it would have been both massive and delightful.

So, anyway, that it my report from dachtoberfest and I just wanted to leave you with thus one last thought. If you are thinking of going to one, you should definitely go because you will most certainly have a tail wagging, tushie sniffing good time!

This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing you the sunniest of Sundays! :)

day at the beach :)

The real tiny chumley had to stay at home while I went to the beach with madwilly yesterday, but lucky for us, plastic baxter and rubber duk duk joined in on the fun,  and even helped us build a pair of sand chumleys :)

hey, duk duk, what a great idea u had turning us into tiny plastic and rubber toys so we could join mom n madwilly at the beach! let's help mom n madwilly make some sand doxies!!

ooh that was fun! let's do another one!

hey after this do u want to sniff by the pier for seagull poop?  i know i sure do!!

yippee all done! last one to the pier is a rotten poopie snake! :)

city sampler: FIT to be tied

So, I told myself I wasn't going to stop by the garment district before we left.  I don't really need anything, and my studio shelves are pretty chock full already.  But who can resist the siren call of neatly arranged aisles of buttons and zippers, or the temptation of staring at finely crafted fashion on exhibit at FIT?  Not me, apparently. But I did survive with my credit card relatively unscathed, and with enough pocket change to get a little sumptin on the way home for my big boyfriend too.

mom this yellow mug u got on clearance from anthropologie for dad is super cool but u want me and duk duk to fill it with some monkey chow milkshake or maybe a double shot iced poop mushie? and why on earth didjoo let uncle dana talk u out of getting the red one too, with dog wearing the fez on it?  fezzes are cool!! :)

city sampler: dachs in the city

So who's more inclined to keep her camera aimed below the waist and close to the ground in NYC, rather than gawking at all the tall buildings or famous celebrities or all that other touristy stuff?  Yeah, you know the answer already.  Quite a few lovely little doxie sightings.  Except for one certain little special Charlie boy, with whom the planets will hopefully align next time. :)

ahem. um, excuse me. mom? sorry to interrupt but i was looking thru the pictures u were not going to post and well, i was noticing how all these doggies have to walk every where and well, next time u go into the city, can u please get me and duk duk one of these? we can paint it yellow and next summer maybe me n duk duk can go into the city and start up our very own doggie taxi service.  small dogs only. and maybe not girls because a taxi this size really has no over there for them to stand in if u know what i mean. but it would be perfect for everybuddy else, dontchoo think?  :)

city sampler: home is where my wifi and the doughnuts are

Feeling visually recharged from my trip to NYC, and thought you might need a recharge too.  Here, a glimpse into our rented apartment, and a couple of cool nearby sights :)

And here, a tiny chumley, who was very happy with his souvenir from my travels, even if it was only from his Uncle Dana's local Wally World.  Simple little joys for a happy go lucky little boy. :)

oooOOoOOOoooooo! a hot dog hot dog guillotine! mom, u think this will work for poopie snakes too?? :)

baxter's hints for hungry hounds #143

even though the evidence might catch up with you later, sometimes, the best time to taste your mom's lunch is when she is busy trying to take a picture of you :) :)

rideys with baxter: the reader's digest wrapup

Hey everybuddy, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, still filling in for my mom while she has the itchies. And you know,  it is a good thing we all went to the Weenie Dog Festival the other week because wouldn'tchoo know there are so many stories here for a roving rover reporter like me to tell, and not all of them involving stink or snackies.  Here I am for instance in the enchanted parking lot, where it is rumored that once on the hour every hour, just like the Old Faithful Geyser in Yellowstone Park,  some lucky dog will get to float high in the air like a helium balloon.  Only the spot moves all around so nobuddy knows where exactly to stand, so it is always a very fun surprise.  Oooh, only five more seconds til lift off so everybuddy stand very straight and still.  Are you ready?

Five..four..three...two...one...Ding ding! It looks like we have a winner!!  I sure hope that dapple's mom holds on to her leash really tight or that pup just might float away!!

Okay, so since it is Sunday and since I am sort of hoping to be done reporting about the Weenie dog Festival today so me and duk duk can finish digging our walrus hole finally, here are some super cool signs I saw.  Can you guess which sign I really wanted to take home and which one is hardly true at all? And can you spot the sign by which u can see a very happy someone with her new toyfriend??

Yeah I did not do the dachshund dive this year on account of mom saying I already have so many toyfriends. But I sure hope they take my suggestion to do a snackie dive next year, because I am pretty sure I would do pretty good at that.

All in all  I had a super time at the Weenie Dog Festival, and even though I was all, hey, do we really have to go? Cuz Lulu's mom and Miss Kerri only just got here and  maybe we should stick around and see if my new friend Fritz or my new friend Emil wins the standard doxie race and can't we stay can't we mom?

Even though I was all like that, I was like this in my snoozer all the way home.  And that, my friends, is how you know you had a super duper wonderful time.

This is Baxter your roving rover reporter, wishing you a Super Spectacular Sunday!! :)

rideys with baxter: my new friend emil

Well hello everybuddy, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, continuing my in depth reporting today from under the superlatives tent here at the Wiener Dog Roast, where things are at the moment definitely slightly roasty because I am in the sun.  But do not worry, because as soon as dad puts me down, I will turn my bluetooth mic on again and we will see about interviewing a very special guest. Okay dad you can put me down now.

(Now, this fella here just won the prize for having traveled the longest distance to get here.  And judging by his mom and dad's super cool outfits or by the language I know I must use to talk to him, I think you might be able to tell where they came from. Okay,  I will ask him now if he has time for an interview, just like my teacher told us to say it in class)

His name is Emil and he came all the way from Germany, where his mom said dachshunds are actually not very popular at the moment. But at least you can find more standard sized ones there, which means I would not be the only little kielbasa in town if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, Emil turned out to be a bit of a charmer with my mom, and although he was very friendly, I did not want mom to share any more of my delicious venison snackies with him and so I sort of had to put an end to our interview early...

Speaking of having to leave early, I have to run and explain to mom why there was an email from teacher talking about finding cardboard cutouts of me and duk duk at our school desks Friday afternoon. And why mom found star trek matinee movie ticket stubs in our backpacks. All I can say is, I hope our relationship with our wii this weekend will still be long and prosperous.  This is Baxter your roving rover reporter, wishing you a Stellar Saturday! :)

rideys with baxter: no no, thank You!

Hello! It's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you again from the Wiener Dog Festival while my mom is still scratchy scratchy.  As hard as it is for me to believe, here at the Wiener Dog Festival, I learned that some doxies do not like their tushies sniffed.

And some doxies, well they do not even like their brother's tushie to be sniffed. Even when you have his brother's permission.

Lucky for me, mom provided enough of a distraction that I could get the data I needed, and I even figured out a better way to collect it!

So with my newly invented stink trail survey technique, not only could I do my research in secret, but it also went a lot faster.

In fact, it was so fast, I even had time to share a little stink of my own, and I was in the perfect place where it could be enjoyed by all.

In my next post I will tell you about my very special new friend Emil, and a few more interesting from the Wiener Dog Roast .  This is Baxter your roving rover reporter,  wishing you a Foofieriffic Friday! :)

rideys with baxter: reporting tips, and the one that got away

Hello again my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, picking up from Tuesday's story here at the Wiener Dog Roast! Now, as you might recall,  my trip here was a stroke of some mighty good luck because I need to do some sniffing research for me and duk duk's next super secret project. And, as any good reporter will tell you, the key to a good story (or in my case, a good sniff) is all about getting a good tip.

Like this one, from my new friend here who was waiting in line for some super swell doggie ice cream.  Do not tell mom but I snitched a taste from a cup I found on the floor by the man who was drawing caricatures, and I must say, it was delicious!

Anyhoo, every good reporter also knows that patience is sometimes key.  Because once I was situated by the doors where my friend said there was some good sniffing, well wouldn't you know it, but by the time I got there,  I think everybuddy had been all sniffed out.  And everyone was on their way to browse and shop all the fine goodies inside.

Well,  except for a couple of fellas, who decided it not only would they shop inside, but also poop inside on the soft soft carpet.  I would have taken pictures of that for you but you already know how that goes.  But let me tell you, their poopie snakes were impressively massive.  Like, level three poopmaster black belt massive. With a nice woody top note, and cardamom and leather mid notes.  I could not tell you the dry down because unfortunately their mom and dad cleaned it all up before then.  But I bet it would have been fantastic, and its sillage very long lasting.

Some of the doxies I met were not quite ready to participate in my survey, which was just as well in retrospect,  since I might have caught some girl cooties and that would have totally thrown my nose off.

Not all the tushies I missed out on were girls though.  Well, for all I know this could have been a girl, but I still call this one, "The One That Got Away".  Something tells me that tushie would have smelled absolutely divine.

Tomorrow, I will report to you with more scenes from the Weenie Dog Roast.  If I do not find another nice patch of sun that is. But I will try my best not to. This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing you a Thoroughly Thuper Thursday!! :)

rideys with baxter: eau de tushie

Hello my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter. Through my super sleuthy scenting techniques, I've just discovered I am at a weenie dog festival and you know what that means...

let's hurry up and get there!

Now, as any of you who have attended a weenie dog festival might know, it is best to keep your paws free so you can be prepared for just about anything.  So today, I am going to put away my iphoney reporting gear and bring out my bluetooth mic.  Oh and I think I've run across my first interviewee for me and duk duk's super secret project...(fumble fumble) Okay I think I got this thing to work.  Please let me know if the volume is too high.

Hee hee, one doxie tushie down, so many more to go.  Sometime soon I hope to tell you more about me and duk duk's super secret project, but in the meanwhile, tomorrow I will share more pictures and tales from my visit to the weenie dog festival.  And if you happen to have any questions about adopting this cute and friendly little fella (whose tushie smells fantastic by the way),  please contact the folks here  or visit their facebooky and tell them he was at the Weenie Roast and hopefully they can help get you connected.  This is Baxter your roving rover reporter, wishing you a totally tooteriffic Tuesday! :) :)
