stir crazy

Yesterday's cooler weather and gentle rain were a welcome change for most of us in our pack, but for the little kielbasa, the gray cloudy day meant there would be hardly anything outside worth watching from his kitty perch.

Baxter's tags jingled as my bored little boy jumped down from his tuffet.  Soon, I thought, tiny chumley will settle down under cover of blankie and snooze the afternoon away.  Funny though, that he decided to trundle all the way over to the family room to do it, considering I was in the dining room and his dad was upstairs.

Minutes passed. I had no sooner tidied up my workspace  and started a new project than I heard from a distance more jingling.  Oh Baxterrrr, what are u dooo-ing? I called out on our subaural communication network.

My question was met with a pause, then more jingling, and occasional tiny thud.  rawr! um. i mean, uh, nuffin mom.

Hm, nuffin.Which is always code for sumptin. Okay, let's have a looksy.

why hello mom how r u doin?  me n duk duk totally r not playing hungry lions of africa today. um, is there anything i can help u with??

Why yes, baby dog, I said as I looked about the fluff strewn family room.  How about you snooze in my lap while I write today's post? And maybe after you can help me clean up those giant dust bunnies. :)

great kill, bax!

i snagged a little baby giraffe the other day and destuffed it real good! but then mom and dad took the remains away for a proper burial.

the giraffe came back to haunt me though, cuz some of the stuffing showed up in my poopers the next morning. i told dad i put the stuffing in there so he wouldn't have a hard time cleaning it up, but he didn't buy it...especially when i had to scoot on the carpet to get the rest of the stuffing out.

tee-hee!

hee hee, butt fluff! yeah it happens sometimes when i cannot get the stuff out of my mouth. ramsay, have u ever asked your mom n dad to restuff it or did u put such a hurt on your giraffe that he could not hold anything anymore? cuz mom only recently figured out that i was just as happy playing with a restuffed toy (u do not even have to sew it up) as I was a new one. Well, I wouldn't mind a new squeaker to really kill, but u know, sometimes it's quantity vs quality! :) b

well, mom and dad say i'm a 'power chewer', so when i put a hurtin' on a toy, i don't mess around! by trial and error they HAVE been able to find certain brands of toys that last longer than others - my best friend hedgehog is an example. i've chewed off so much hair on his head, but i haven't destuffed him after 8mos!

oooh have u tried mr dragon? i got in some nibbleypoos but it was not as quick a destroy! :)

YES! Ours is a different brand, but the one we have is VERY similar to that dragon. As a matter of fact, it's one of the longer-lived toys that Ramsay owns - next to trusty hedgehog. We think part of the reason for dragon's longevity is the fact that he doesn't have alot of stuffing in him to begin with - but enough little nubbins for Ramsay to chew on.

We'll have to look into the brand of dragon that you recommended for the next one we buy.
