the daily tomato

For weeks now tiny chumley has patiently been watching the cherry tomato plants by his window grow, barking at the squirrels and biting at the buzzy bees as best he could from the inside of his house, all to protect his plants, all while watching his green orbs ever so slowly grow larger and redder.

This week, his diligence has paid off, with the bottommost tomatoes of one of his plants ripening, one fruit at a time, one day at a time.

oooh mom, is that what i think it is?

Hee hee, and thus begins our summer of the daily tomato. :)

The daily tomato sounds like a great tradition. Yum... for you. I'm not so fond of them. I'd like the daily cheese.

I haven't tried tomatoes yet Baxter, are they really that good?? Mom has been suprising me with blueberries in the morning & they are super yummy!! Maybe if I give her the "sad eyes" & ask nicely she'll get me some tomatoes to try... :)

Otto says he would like to try a tomato after he's allowed to eat real food in 1-2 weeks. He is closely watching the gooseberries ripen, though.
