science sunday

Hey, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter reporting to you today from the back door of my home. What I'm really here to report about is on the deck, but mom says I have to report from here on account of the fact that they don't make rubber gloves and protective goggles and chemical safety suits in my size. You see, today I am reporting on my mom's metal etching project.

Now, there's a lot of science goin on that frankly, mom and I both find boring, so lemme just say that if you're ever visiting my house and you think we're serving cocktails outside in these nifty glass containers, think again. In fact, don't even try tasting or touching or even going near those glasses, which is why mom put that old strainer on top of everything. Yeah, I know, I thought I should say something in case you thought you were looking at another one of duk duk's contraptions.

Anyhow, the point of today's science experiment is to etch some cool patterns on a tiny brass disc that mom wants to put on annabelle's new dapper doxie dud. To be quite honest I didn't get to see how it was all done, cuz, well, hee, since I couldn't be out there where all the action was, I went to work on my tummy tan and kinda fell asleep.

But hey looky, by the time I woke up everything was done and I heard mom hammering away. Get a load of what I saw. Pretty cool, huh? I want mom to make me one that says "more rawhide, please".

Well, anyways, today is mother's day and I think I need to get started on making mom breakfast. Kibble pancakes! I know, it's gonna be so tasty! I've been saving some kibble all week so I would have enough. This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing you and yours a scientastic sunday and happy mother's day!! :)

I love it! I'm going to have the coolest duds in the neighborhood! Mommy said all the doggies at school are going to be jealous of me--I'm not sure what "school" is, but Mommy says I'll find out tomorrow. She says she signed me up for obedience classes--I never got to go when I was a puppy because my Mommy had a weird work schedule and couldn't find a class that worked around it. Now that she works the same hours every day she can get me to class. Better late than never! I know a few commands but have a ways to go before I catch up with Baxter! Well, I'd better get going--Mr. Dragon is picking on me because I have to go to school tomorrow so I'm going to go teach him a lesson. :)

Love & bellyrubs,

Okay - I think I deserve an etched medallion that says "best dachsie mom" after I rescued a dachsie on Mother's Day (and I thought I'd just get a card!)

We were sorry that we missed you, but so excited to have met Baxter! We have pretty good doxie-dar and Mom spotted him first, then I realized he was wearing duds. I confess -- I went to the flea market half-hoping to meet your handsome little boyfriend. =.) It was a beautiful day to browse the flea market.

hey baxter. I wanted to tell you that you have to thank your mom for giving me some tips for earthdog! I took my dachshund, Ammo, (who looks so much like you) to a trial on Sunday. We had a lot of fun!

I put up a blog post about it incase you are interested.

P.S. I love reading about your adventures! And I'm saving up so Ammo can get his very own Dud soon!

Does the pic look familiar, Baxter?

THAT is soooo cool! Your mom is amazing!
Happy Belated Mother's Day Kaly!

hee - Ammo you are one doggie in touch with your doxie side, that's for sure! Loved your earthdog post. Baxter could learn a thing or two just by hangin out with ya, I'm sure. THough I sorta like that he doesn't bring little lizards, even though I would also sorta like that he did. Maybe I can get him to find and bring me fabric instead!

I recognize that precious face! Lovely to see you again, Annie! :)

Happy Belated Mother's Day to you, too, Twix's mom! Loved your pictures from Boston! :)

Thanks! I would love to be able to "see" things better for photographing them. I love taking photos but never feel like they are very good. I appreciate your comments!

The medallions are just stunning. Your Mom is sure crafty! Does she still make them? Whem she gets back from the crafty place, will you tell her that Chica wants one? She isn't a girly, girl looking little mixture of tiny terrier love, but a pretty thing would sure help her look pretty. Thanks, Sir Chumley...

oh yes miss glendasue! do u mind emailing or etsy convoing mom sometime in early sept for details and such? :) :)
