Is this what Baxter gets since having HGE?
My little Ali had that - scared me to death - spent 3 nights at the Vet. All better now but always on the alert. She now eats id dog food with a sprinkle of Metamucil on top for good measure. She is 15 years old now and I want to keep her in good health as long as I can.
Hi Marene and Ali! Baxter's diet has evolved to now include about 1.5 - 2 tsp Konsyl (metamucil's sugar free cousin) mashed up with about a tablespoon of wet and enough water to make it slightly thicker than brownie batter - kinda pasty like. To that we add about 75% of what he would normally get as a recommended serving of dry kibble. It does seem to help keep his stool nice and solid!! Good to hear Ali is in wonderful health. I just posted a blog about our prior two boys, who lived until they were 16.
