following the sun

Full Sun: Plants defined as Full Sun require at least 6 full hours of direct sunlight. Many sun lovers enjoy more than 6 hours per day.

Baxter loves to spend his quieter days living the life of a full sun plant, roaming the house to keep pace with the ever moving sun so he can get his full 6 to 8 hours of sunlight. After a year of practice, his route is pretty well defined and we can pretty much find him at any hour of the day just by knowing what time it is. Is it late morning? Check under the kitchen table by the bay window. Lunchtime? Surely he's wedged between the wall and the couch in the family room, catching the sliver of sunlight that peeks through the skylights. Afternoon? Stretched out in the bedroom like a mother pig ready to nurse her piglets. Baxter likes to end his sunny sojourn in the living room, where his final ritual entails an alternating dance between the hot late afternoon sun and the cooling shade.

Were it not for the thrill of chasing bunnies, I dare say Baxter would happily live his life as a plant in a greenhouse.
