Tiny chumley's morning beauty routine is pretty simple, really. Wake up, do a full body shake, and voila, done. Fresh as a daisy, with every short red hair neatly in its place.
Except for mornings like yesterday when he wakes up and the base of his tail doesn't cooperate. When something, usually an itch that he can't scratch, gives him what we like to call his poofter tail, a protrusion of fur at the base of his tail that at times can look like we adorned our boy's wagger with a fur trimmed scrunchy or a tiny victorian muff.
Mornings like this, however busy I might think I should be, I am happy to oblige my little boy, take the time to scritch him til there is a mess of dandery fur on the floor and his sausagey body shakes all over in tingly delight, til his tail tells me everything is right with the world again. It's the least I can do, I figure, for all the joy Baxter brings into our lives.

Hi! My email-adress (the one you have) isn't working anymore and so I lost your email-adress also. Shortly: what happened to Caro? The vet said first, it is probably a hernia. But when she operated Caro she saw that his abdominal muscle had come off completely from his hip. Nothing could be done due to very brittle edges of the hole. Caro had some kind of medical condition that caused this. It was a shock and I miss him terribly.
Hi Baxter, You short hairs are soooo lucky, you are only a LITTLE bit twongie in the mornings. We Long hairs on the other paw... Well, it isn't a lovely look, let me tell you.
