Sometimes I wonder how tiny chumley feels about being our dog, of being endlessly cuddled and petted and loved beyond words. "Oh baby dog, how'd you end up so kuh-YOOT?" we always ask him practically every day while squeezing his little sausagey body into ours as we hold him tightly, smooshing our face into his while kissing his soft little cheek.
o i dunno, his eyes will often reply, i guess i was born that way. can u let me down now?
Sigh. Yes baby dog. But give me another thirty seconds.

Your right, its something about their eyes and their faces. Dachshund are just soo cute, everytime I see one or a picture of one I have a inner SQEE moment.
And Baxter is one of the cutest doxies I have ever seen! Well aside from my cuddle bug of course!
I know! Molly gets so irritated with the cuddling. She's an independent little cuss and would rather have it all on her own terms ... sigh.
Same goes at our house. I ask our 2 doxies at least several times a day about "how did they get so cute?" They are used to the snuggling and smothering thankfully. Of course, a piece of cheese following any of those statements helps. :)
Baxter just has that look that calls to your heart...

I just gotta ask .. is there a Ween out there that doesn't like being smooshed by Mommy? Me so love Bax!! I'd smoosh him right along with my 4 and spoil him rotten too. Like a flounder in the sun. A little smooth red one. :)
if you ever left the little kielbasa for, say, a weekend, you would know how much he loves you when you come back. Even the most blasé pupper can't help going all SQUEEE when their hooman returns! It's worth the trip, just for all that love!!
They are just SO darn lovable! Those ears and eyes just make me melt! I am fortunate because Milo is a little, fuzzy, red-headed cuddlebug, so he loves getting kisses and all the affection - and I gladly oblige!
I miss smooshing Minne's velvet nose. Give Baxter an extra 10-second smoosh from me!
