Tiny chumley has been a barking menace lately to his little squirrel and bunny summertime friends, spending hour after hour these past few days in watchful surveillance of our freshly filled birdfeeder, and making it cacophonously known when he spies one of his little frenemies and deems them ripe for chasing. Pleading, til finally I stop what I am doing and open the door to release my little wolfhound into the wilds of his backyard.
All the vigilance, all the frenzied chasing and sniffing about and subsquent reverse sneeze kasnorting from having inhaled too deeply into the dirt after having lost track of his little buddies, all of it has a way of catching up for a little fella who is accustomed to lazily tummy tanning and snoozing his day away. And so, I wasn't surprised yesterday when Baxter trundled up to my side while I took pictures of flapjack fabrics, and plopped himself down for a quick catnap.
Because even the most ferocious of tiny warriors needs a little snooze by their mom's side every now and then. :)

yesterday while out we saw a tiny bird by the road. Nelli saw it first and actually stepped back in surprise, i guess. little bird breathed heavily and Nelli wanted to play with it. i denied. the bird then hopped off - i guess it was sick or injured. Nelli is not a great hunter like you Baxter :)
FURENEMIES!!! BaaaaWaaaah that is funny!! and fur sure you need a nap after a SESSION with them.

Phew! It sure can be tiring to socialize all the time, can't it Baxter? :) Especially with squirrels and bunnies. They're so rude, they always run away from you...
Just one of the pitfalls of being a backyard warrior, Baxter. Once you rest up you'll have the energy to protect the family from those summertime troublemakers! I know just how you feel.

Squirrels and Bunnies are to scared all the time Baxter! You should start chasing something else...Like foxes...Wait, no, cross that out. I did a report on foxes, and they're usually sick. You could chase cats! ;)
