rear view mirror

It never gets old for Baxter,  I now realize.  The act of chasing a squirrel.  Considering the household hubbubery that has been abounding as of late, this past weekend I thought it mildly unsual that the little kielbasa had been snoozing around and keeping close company to us while we did our chores and tended to unfinished work.  Ha, I thought, the novelty of staring at the birdfeeder had finally worn off.  Soon our house would be blissfully quiet again and tiny chumley would be back to his lazy tummy tanning ways.

What I failed to realize, however, was that the seed in birdfeeder had gotten too low to hold the squirrels' interest.  And in turn,  the squirrel action had gotten too low to hold the little kielbasa's interest.   Our tiny three link food chain had broken down, and the only persons benefitting from such an arrangement were the humans of our household, which hardly seemed fair at all.

One quick refill was all it took to get our tiny food chain back in order.  Which is how I knew when I came back from errands on Monday,  the little kielbasa and his twirly swirly tushie could once again be found standing, a barbarian at his gate.

hey can somebuddy open this thing already? i got some chasin to do!! :)

Mysterious quiet explained! There's always a reason, isn't there? ;) With the return of the tiny food chain also comes the return of the noise! :)
