still life

The birdfeeders are low again, and with nary a promising sign of squirrels or unicorns anywhere in our backyard, I am sure that today life for the little kielbasa will feel as though it is standing still.

Most days, tiny chumley will patiently make do with his still life circumstances, and migrate about the house following the sun as he works to maintain his tummy tanning bliss.

But other days, when the contrast between the stillness of his life and the busy crafty-ness of mine proves too great for him to bear, Baxter will decide that something much change.  Balance must be restored. And so he'll amble over to where I am working, roll on his back with great tag jingly fanfare, and expose his summer darkened tummy while thumping his tail loudly on the floor.

thump-thump-thump! rub my tummeee! thump-thump-thump! it's time to play! thump-thump-thump!

And willingly, I oblige.  :)

Okay!!! Your dachshund dermatologist gives up! "Tummy tanning bliss" "summer darkened tummy" -- reading that is like fingernails on a blackboard!!! I,O,&L have nice pale tummies - of course, there's been mostly rain and cool days here, not much sun. Let B know that all that tanning will cause wrinkles and "age" his skin!

Very artistic picture, Baxter!
Sometimes I do the same thump-thump-thump sound with my tail and my grandma loves it!
Kisses and hugs
