double posties: goodnight, irene
dear diary,
today dad says hurricane irene is coming to visit our state tonight n tomorrow morning and even though it probably will not be too bad for us where we are compared to the coast, dad says we might be spending some time here in the bathroom in case it does come a little further inland. which make me worry about mister turtle and even the squirrels n bunnies because they probably do not have a safe and sturdy and dry place to stay and mom said things could get very windy and wet and dangerous. so me n duk duk n lil pink puppy n chocobot are going to ask dad if it is okay to leave the back door open this morning and invite all our backyard friends and frenemies to come inside. which i hope he lets us do because me n duk duk have already started making monkey chow milkshakes for everybuddy and we even charged up the backup power for our wii so we can all tak turns playing dance dance scoobytown. or barbie fantasy funville.
anyhoo diary, mom said she will not have internet access today and thru the weekend but there will still be a scheduled blog post everyday and if there are status updates about how we r doing, my dad will post them as a comment to the most recent blogpost because he does not have a facebooky and i will be too busy with our guests to write!
and diary, i hope u r also staying safe from irene and if u can, please let me know how u r doing too!
toodley-doo,
b. :)

Take care. Millie and I hope you get just a little rain and such...nothing more. And your little woodland friends pass the time sleeping cozy!
Bunnies, squirrels, and especially Mr./Ms. turtle are more resilient and sturdy than you realize. So don't be disappointed if they don't take you up on your hospitable offer. That just means more monkey chow milkshakes to go around for you and the gang!
stay safe baxter!

Oh, Sir Baxter, you are so brave and thoughtful...everything will be OK, and you should have a monkey chow shake to calm your nerves and give one to DAD, too.
Take care and stay safe, B and all your friends and family.
Thanks for the update Baxter about your storm plans. I have been a bit worried since I have heard the path of the storm. Stay safe with your Dad and I am sure your squirrel and bunny friends will know where to go and stay safe too.
It is so sweet of you think of them and offer help.
Mom's family still lives back in VA(it's where she's from) so we are praying for everybody on the east coast.
Stay safe Baxter & family!!

The boys and I are hoping you and your dad stay safe and dry. I bet your mom wishes she had brought you to Bucktown!! (no hurricanes here!). Anyhoo---let her know I,O, and L, and Teagan (!) will see her on sunday 11AM.

Fortunately where we are, Milo shouldn't have much to worry about except for a soggy belly come potty time.
Hope you and your family are safe and sound this weekend, Baxter! We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you and yours!
Hi everyone, thanks for the good wishes and concern for Bax and I. We appreciate it! The good news is that Irene has veered slightly more East and has weakened. Even so, it is still a strong storm and all of us should say prayers for those who would be impacted by the storm. In other news today, our friend Mr. Turtle visited. Of course, Bax followed the Pupscout rules and did Stop, Look and Bark. Nonetheless, we had a good visit. Mr. Turtle had a lunch of some small tomatoes which he enjoyed very much.
Bax and his Dad.
Thank you for the update, Baxter and Dad! I'm glad that Irene seems to be losing steam and that the turtle had a good munch with you.
Teagan and I will see mom tomorrow with the standard trio! We will let her go back home, don't worry.
Melinda and Teagan
Glad to hear you are safe and sound, Baxter!
