dear diary,
yippee! we are finally here at my border collie cousin jasper's western saloon and no sooner did we unpack and settle in than, uh, well, what can i say there was an accidental herding incident. but please do not worry for me bcuz the vet said my wounds were not as bad as they look and even though one of them was not very deep it was a tiny bit wide so to help it heal better i got two very cool staples and antibiotics and i even got a tushie shave! although not shaved with my name like i was hopin but maybe my vet will do it when he visits me to take my staples out in 10 days.
anyhoo, i totally wish it were halloween now bcuz wouldn't my tushie make the best frankenstein ever? mom always said it had a life of its own. :o

ps - do not worry, i am okay bcuz jasper thought it might be a good idea for him to stay at his grandmas house while we are in town and we r going to video skype bcuz that way he says if his herding instinct surfaces, all he will be able to herd is his monitor and well u know, it is a lot harder and less susceptible to herding than my tushie. and he said i could have all his snackies while he is gone and they are very delicious. and, mom says most importantly, although i have not exhibited any symptoms of problems, the vet here said she detected a heart murmur and now i will totally get that checked out when i get home. i know, what a day, right? :)

So sorry about your poor tushie. Don't worry about your heart...Lexi has a murmur and she gets meds in yummy cream cheese everyday.

This kinda reminds me of when I had my anal glands lasered out, but they used glue on my butt. Those staples are wild!

Sorry to hear about your tushie, Baxter. That's some mighty fine staplin' there. I'm confident your heart will be fine. My Tuffy was diagnosed with a heart murmur when he was 6 months old & he never had a problem with it during his 15 years with us. Enjoy your trip & don't overindulge in Jasper's snackies! :)
Oh Baxter! What was Jasper thinking!! You had just got unpacked and everything. I bet Jasper is jealous of your tushie because it is so cute. I am glad you are ok. I bet it scared your Mom too. I hope the rest of your trip is fun and your wounds heal real fast.
Yikes! Get better soon. Good thing you took the train because your cool staples would set off the metal detectors going through airport security. Don't worry about the murmur... how else would your heart be beating after having your tushie nipped?

OH NO - what a bad experience for all concerned. I'm guessing Jasper's mom pretty much feels worse than anyone (or anything - including your tushie). At least now you look "bad*ss" (literally!)

Uh oh Baxter - sorry to hear about your herding accident - you should heal up in no time. And Rowdy is jealous of your cowboy gear, (you look fabulous) what with him being named after Clint Eastwood in Rawhide and all. Where did you get that badge btw?
Also sorry to hear about the heart murmur. Joey has one too - it has been laying low at about a 3 for the last several years, but the vet said 3.5 a few months ago. He'll probably start going to a cardiologist when he starts showing symptoms - coughing, etc.

Wowee!! That looks like it hurts! We hope you are feeling better soon! (One time Shelby had to get a hole poked in her butt, but that's not really the same thing. She had to get the vet to do that because of something about glands... gross. Anyhoo... hope you're all better soon!)

Oh no Baxter! Sorry to hear about your tushie, I hope you heal really fast. Those herding dogs can be mighty quick....but I'll give you a little secret...their weakness is their heels. You just gotta nip at them to keep them from herding you. It drives my pal Trooper crazy!

thank u for your well wishes everybuddy! mom says my tushie is healing nicely and yes jasper and his entire family felt really bad it happened but i told them that it was okay becuz much like i cannot help that i am small, jasper cannot help but herd small things. though i might just try that suggestion from ammo if he accidentally tries to do it again. :) oh and joey n rowdy, my mom made me my badge and u know what, it really seems like rowdy really needs one of his own as well, doesn't it? :):)

Ahhh kisses for the tushie. Yeeouch!! We used to be owned by herding dogs and they just can't help themselves sometimes. You got "herded" rather sharply it looks like.
Oh and Mishka has a stage 1 murmur. Found that out when he went in for his.. well ya know. Snip? From most I've read it's just good to have it check yearly, keep the weight down and regular but not overly heavy walkies/excer. *hugs*
