two more days :)

the little dachshund peered into his christmas tree, counting and recounting the ornaments, and counting them again for good measure. two more days, he thought to himself while he waited for his ferocious falcon friend to finish his chores. two more days of being good and then finally, finally santa would deliver the goods, and the little dachshund would be free again to be himself.

as he counted the twenty third ornament for the one hundred and seventh time, he realized he did not know which part of christmas day he would like the most, really. of course, there would be the presents. if santa even delivered one percent of the christmas list he and his best toyfriend duk duk came up with this year,  there would be enough toys and gummy worms and equipment to last them at least eleventy zillion christmases, freeing them from the unnecessary challenge of being good for many years to come.  but also on christmas day, he thought to himself as he counted the seventy third ornament for the one hundred and twelfth time, he could finally, finally also release the giant doozy of a foofie he had been holding in since thanksgiving, timed, he hoped if he could hold it long enough, to happen after his mother lit the christmas candles. :)
