mister ptooey

Disorder in our universe, thanks in no small part to the sample bag of herring and sweet potato kibble that I brought into our house a couple of weeks ago. An occasional single extremely tasty fishy nugget treat for the kielbasa, from which the seeds of tiny chumley's gastronomic schnubbing rebellion have taken root.

"ptooey!! lowfat chicken kibble again?" glares my little boy as he spits out the same ol same ol in his food bowl,"dontcha got the other stuff that tastes like cat food?"

That could be Jeeves in the photo! The food he's grown tired of just gets thrown around the floor. He has me trained to occasionally switch brands;-)

Read your blog almost every day. This made me laugh. My mini black and tan, Bogart, now won't eat his food unless it's on a "people" plate. Picky little buggers.

Oh yes, fish is so delish!! We mix the oh, so bland EN kibble with some natural sweet potato and fish kibble for Oskar. However, we MUST add about 5 strips of shredded cheddar cheese to make the meal just right, or the dish is snubbed.

You don't want to get in Oskar's way when he knows a can of tuna is being opened. He turns from a 10 lb. dog into a 100 lb. cannonball!

hee hi Milshelb's mom n Jeeves! mister schnubly struck again today with his morning tummy acid reduction snack, which he ptooed as soon as the kibble hit his mouth. lunch in a few, so we'll see if I get to give my ward cleaver speech. Now baby dog, there are plenty of hungry dogs who would be happy to eat this food.....

Hi Alicia! I have a feeling a mix of foods is in our future. I've already spread a few fishy nuggets in his food bin in hopes that the odor would permeate everything, but apparently that's not enough! Are u using California Natural? THat's the sample packet we have. Oskar's meals sound absolutely delish! hmmmm, tuna, huh? probably best that Baxter not go down that slippery slope but I have a feeling chumley would LOVE it!!

Hi Liz S and Bogart!! All you need is a little silver dome so you can present it to him properly with "voila" flare!! :)

Ahh Bax my sweetest boy. Whisper to Mommy that you would like to try Taste of the Wild. Grain free, 3 flavors and all of mine love each. You can even go to TOTW's website, request some information on their wonderful product, they will e-mail to ask some info and send a goodie box of samples. Mmmm num num. :)

http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/
has it rated as a 6 star food and California Natural is a 4 star and approx the same price. *wink*

Oh .. I'm a dog food fanatic now so hence tons of reading and learning up on it. :)

oh they have that at the store - maybe I can get a sample of that next time! :) Do you know what the fiber content is by any chance? Baxter's bottom, um, requires it.

hee - I just briefly looked at the site. The nerve of chumley schnubbin his current food - it's already 5 stars! And the food we fed him before that was 6 (long story short, he didn't snub that high protein food but we had to switch for fiber reasons). I have been thinkin off an on about switching to Fromm now that our store carries that. Hmm, so glad you listed the site. I will have to study it more and come up with a plan. Taste of Wild sounds wonderful too! :)

My mom says she is lucky that I like the kibble she gives to me because here we don't have lots of options!
I am sure your mom will find the one you will like!

Hey Bax! I feel ya....I don't like the yucky stuff either. I was eating Wellness fish and sweet potato for a long time. Mom recently switched me to Taste of the Wild and I really like it! I think you would too.

My furkids have sampled the Fromm sweet potato and duck and really liked that one as well. If it's fiber he's needing you can add fiber to his diet ( regular human stuff ) and it will help. You could also make his own treats and make them packed with fiber too. :) I have been playing around with home made treats lately. So far so good. I can't sew.. but I can bake. Hehee :) I should have said.. the CN that I clicked on was a 4, shame on me I didn't look at them all. Do check out TOTW's website and send em a note. I got a 7lb box full of several samples, even got some for the kitties. I was impressed and so were the wee piggys.. err Weens. :)

wow what a sample box! i'll have to do that. chumley's living large right now - I decided it was time to add a bit of fiber to back into his diet and that means a smidge of canned food with konsyl mixed in, along with his regular kibble. Pumpkin never quite gave him the bulk he needs, but that konsyl really does the trick once we get the amount right.

hi lorenza n twix! boy i really gotta check out the taste stuff! :)
