me likey dat: my new snackie toy

Some treats for tiny chumley in the mail this week, a box of goodies ordered from ihelppets.com in exchange for use of a couple of the little kielbasa's photos for an upcoming book, proceeds of which go to helping animals in need. A serendipitous event, considering I had already made up my mind to splurge on Nina Ottosson's Pyramid toy anyway, and a few others that I had planned to originally get at the pet store anyway for Christmas.

With a little bit of excess energy to burn, it seemed only fair to give tiny chumley an early Christmas. Much to tiny chumley's delight, I filled the pyramid toy with snackies, put it on the floor, and watched the little kielbasa assess his new toy. The verdict? Looky looky! :)

haha, Wilson has the Kong version of the toy. The only difference is that the hole is closer to the bottom. It took him a while to figure it out, I had to bat it around to prove that yes, treats are coming out of it...if its hit hard enough.

that is so true! ya really gotta get the momentum going. I considered the kong version but realized that the larger kong shaped hole would probably be easier for Baxter to gnaw. Or it might have been my imagination. I was told the circular hole in this toy is about 3/4" in diameter. just small enough so this boy can't pick it up and make it bigger.

My favorite part is the door patrol break at :30 -- gotta make sure the house is still protected!

But, B, I think you were done in by the hardwood floor! How's a fella with no thumbs gonna conquer that toy when it just slides away from him?

i tried it on the rug,
i tried it on the floor,
i tried it practically everywhere, and still it leaves me wanting more! :)

Hi Baxter - it's me, Ike. My mom says I'm not the brightest bulb, but she gave me this toy and I figured it out in, like, 5 minutes!!! You got to knock it down, then get it to spin around kinda fast. The kibble will then just fly out! Use your paw, not your nose! I got so good at this that mom doesn't fill it with kibble any longer.
