psssst - my mom wrote this post before she left and she wanted me to post it so i am. but hee hee me so glad to see that she got my message all right. only i still do not understand why i do not always get what i want and what the rolling stones have to do with any of it. because for one thing, all the stones we have here in our yard do not roll, and for another, those fellas who think they are stones that roll? well come on they think they are stones so what up wit dat?

Some days after a good squirrel chase, when the little kielbasa has proven too willful to be carried but yet has dutifully obliged me with at least agreeing to go back inside, he'll opt to climb up the deck stairs himself. One little dawdling mosey at a time. Placing his forepaws carefully and deliberately on each step, one by one, whilst his hindpaws play a slow and shuffling catch up, as though wandering though unfamiliar terrain in total darkness. Dragging his little nubby nails across each floorboard in such a four pawed rhythm that his message is loud and clear.
nooooooooooot. yeeeeeeeet. noooooooot. yeeeeeeeet.
And I wonder if we should have stayed out, just a little while longer.

Good job of making your mom think twice about whether you are ready to go in or not. Have a good day, Baxter.
pawhugs, Max
Thai goes up the stairs outside to the porch in a similar manner, but his is due to his IVDD and his arthritis, complicated by his Cushings! He is in a hurry to get a snackie that he is convinced is being consumed by either Chip or Ginger, and he is always in a hurry to continue to patrol the perimeter of his kingdom (which we call the kitchen)
thank u max u too!! :)
hee hee, o yes i understand about needing to patrol the kitchen for snackie food! i hope u r having a wonderful wednesday miss agnes! :)
It sounds like the way our big dog, Willie, climbs the stairs... his legs sometimes hurt him, so he goes up pretty slowly, one step at a time. AND he weaves right to left as he goes up. xD It takes a minute sometimes for him to get to the top!
Hi Baxter!! We only have 4 steps outside to get in but I run up them really fast because I know there's a treat waiting for me in there, especially if I was a good boy & made some poopie snakes!! But I can understand not wanting to go if you where having fun chasing squirrels, I don't get to do that cause I don't have a yard of my very own:(
Hope you have a great Wednesday!!
Jasper
I have a similar picture of sweet Milo as a puppy attempting to climb the steps for the first time. The determination to do it themselves is adorable!
Things must be done in the way we want, right?
Happy Wednesday!
Kisses and hugs
