everything but the duk

There's a little game that Baxter and I like to play on occasion, and it's called fetch it.  In its most ideal form, I ask Baxter to fetch something in the house, and he brings back exactly that item. It works really well for items he knows well, located in a fairly close radius from where we are.  But ask for something less familiar, or ask for a familiar item that is a room or two or a floor level away, and what he brings back is always an endearing surprise. Which he is willing to repeat over and over until I finally proclaim that he has brought exactly the item I asked for.  Which is how I ended up yesterday night with this lovely pile of things he thought I wanted.

if we are done here, may i please have some peanut butter in my kong toy now??

Did your mom was barefoot so you thought she needed her shoes??
Happy Monday, Baxter!

Perhaps Baxter has a footwear fetish. Except for the Kong which was an obvious ploy to have a peanut butter treat. He worked hard for it!

Do you think kitties would like a kong toy... Maybe I'll have HH get one for the boys...

Have a great day...

pawhugs, Max

Pee. S. We have the opposite of fetch going on over here. The boys love to take HH's pens out of her holders and carry them off. She hasn't figured out where they are hiding them... LOCK DOWN...HEE HEE

hee, hee, no lorenza and miss alicia, u see sometimes my mom asks me to fetch her shoes and well they were on the way to the room where duk duk was and i kinda was hopin she'd be happy with just that! and on any other day she said she would be cuz i brought her matched pairs n everything, but alas, i still had to find duk duk!! :)

ha, u know, Max, my kitty friends honeybear, kerny, and sammy didn't seem very much into my kong toy when i visit them so i dunno. in fact, they like giving me the stink eye. so if u like giving stink eyes, then u totally should ask your mom for a dachshund! that is so funny u guys like to snitch pens. if i could i think i would snitch socks and laundry detergent cups. cuz i have, but mom n dad always seem to catch me! i think i need some kitty stealthy tips!! :) b

Jeeves only brings on thing on command--his Kong. I say "where is it?" and he goes searching. Sometimes he just points his nose at it like, "it's right there, can't you see it?" But usually we can play a game where I throw it and he brings it back over and over. Very un-doxie like I think to play fetch that way.

Hmmm... I think a good name for that game would be "Intellifetch" - an intelligent game of fetch. Unfortunately, we do not know that game in our house. You'd think the German Shepherds would be great at that, but the mostly only fetch what the other one has at that moment. ("You have the flat cat? I want the flat cat...")

Molly does not fetch. That's why she has human servants.

That is so adorable. Our doxie is trained as she would like to be... which means she can sit if you have something that she wants in your hand.

And we usually find a stockpile of items similar to this under the bed (what my bf calls her "clubhouse"), but there aren't any commands involved.

hee hee, Jeeves, I sorta still bring back stuff when we play that sort of fetch, but mostly it's because mom is in the way of where I want to go with my frisbee.

boy, miss bludog, i really need to get up with molly so she can really teach me how to be a proper doxie!

his miss dropped stitch knitter! i would love to see your doxie sometime! and the clubhouse stash! mom makes me pick up my toys and put them back in the toybox every so often so i don't get to really hide them under the bed. boo hoo!

hee hee, mom says she will try and make a viddy sometime of the whole thing. cuz she says i really have gumption when i'm doing it! :)
