two lamps and a skunk
Tiny chumley was disappointed when he found out he couldn't help me rewire the lamps I scored at the thrift shop yesterday, and glumly stretched out on a stairstep, occasionally heaving a sigh of displeasure by pressing one ear back then the other.
me so booooooored! his little brown eyes declared as they watched me make a giant mess on the foyer floor. isn't there anything to do today?
I got up to give Baxter a skritch. Poor baby dog, I thought, you're being such a good boy and it's really not fair that you don't have anything new to play with when I've got my new toys, is it? How bout we pull out Mister Skunky P Eeeew?
oooo i hear crinkling!! gimme gimme gimme! perked the little kielbasa when I came back with his prize.
And happy both were we, working separately yet keeping each other company, til finally we both finished what we set out to do.

Love those lamps, what treasures! When I read your post title I was worried you had a stinky run-in with a real, live skunk. Happy to see that wasn't the case! :)
Haha, I agree with Simply Smitten ;) I was hoping Baxter hadn't gotten sprayed!!! Thankfully, he was only ripping apart his skunk toy <3

hee hee, hildy, my mom says my nails are actually a little long right now, can u believe it? my pawgiene routine is mostly an every other week thing, using a dremel tool set on fairly low speed and the little medium grit sanding drum. and i put up with it why? cuz that's practically the only time i get my rawhide treat nowadays. a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do! oh me chewin on the plastic squeaky heart i eviscerated out of mr skunky. u see, it sorta goes like this - nibble off tiny protrusions like feet and nose and maybe tail, destuff, then get to the yummy plastic squeaky center! but do not worry, i only like to make a mess and i do not eat any of it :)

oh miss simply smitten, that would be awful! mom says she can only handle one stinky skunk in the house and if so then i so want it to be me! :)

hee hee, miss bludog, make that squeak, stuffin, and feet!! he is still mostly okay besides that though. mom says she is so glad miss kimberley gave me that toy cuz she would have never thought to pick up one of those and me so loves its size and crinkle. and when i carry it around, i look like i am pretenting i caught a squirrel or sumptin! molly needs to tell me what that is actually like sometimes. a dog can dream... :)
