the last best place

Okay, so I have to fess up and admit that I haven't really gotten around to fully processing all the goodies from my bizcation earlier this year. Fabric mostly, which have been lying around the house in piles waiting for the day when I would be ready to use them.  Or kick into them, which I seemed to do with much more frequency.

"Ugh. I really need to do something about this," I would think to myself as the little kielbasa watched while I stumbled into one pile and on to the next on any given day.  Which is why my vagabond fabric mountains have in these past few months been able to call practically every room in our house their home, including their most recent and what I must proudly admit to be my most creative storage solution, our master bathtub.

There I suppose things would have stayed had I not finally realized a couple weeks ago while playing with the little kielbasa upstairs that there was one storage space yet left in our house.  One last final possible place to store fabric.  oooOOOoooo.  It was time to go to IKEA.

And so yesterday, after our long drive back from Baxter's Uncle Dana's house, out came the rubber mallet and snerdvik hex wrench.  I hammered and screwed away while big and tiny boyfriends recharged themselves downstairs on the couch, til finally I was done, and received my curious little visitor.

mom, this is nice but how come u did not leave a cubby for me and my toyfriends??

Sorry babydog. But wait til you see what I will be making for you later on! :)

How I wish Ikea would come here! I have three of the other cabinets in that line, in black. But, B, it looks like there's room under it for your toyfriends, though maybe not for your goombaness.

Ooh, how gorgeous! I love it, it's so neat and organized. :) Great job! That must have felt good to find all the fabric a home. :)

First of all, Bax, I think you've already got a tennis ball holding your spot! And since it doesn't come with a ramp (think Cleopatra in her chair with Nubian slaves toting her up the ramp in "Aida") You'd be better off on the ground floor - "Ladies' cosmetics and shoes, Mens' wear, and Linens." hee, hee, hee!!

That is the best and most beautiful place for storage of fabric... especially if said fabric is going to be quilted in any way.... I do love quilts and I can picture some beautiful ones out of that scrumptious fabric.

Happy Monday, pal.

pawhugs, Max

hee hee miss keren, dat is my froggy frog. i was testin 2 see if i could get under there okay and i sorta can butchoo know, i still do not see why i cannot also have a cubby cuz with a ramp or a ladder we could totally have a tree house up there!!!

oooh if u do miss simply smitten, mom says she wants to see!! :)

oh max, it would be very interesting to quilt some of those fabrics, but mom says she would need to find a very patient quilter who would be willing to deal with upholstery weight fabric and giant wale corduroy. u know anybuddy? :)
