Cassie, I am told, has yet to really bark in her new home. But I think a few more pouncy playtime sessions with her happy little noisy ground hog sized friend will change all that soon enough. :)

spring forward

dear diary, 

considering what happened to me and duk duk  last year when we traveled into the future one hour to save daylight, we thought it best if we sleep this one out. and maybe go for a walkie later. and maybe add to our poopie snake collection. and maybe work on our tree house.  and ask mom and dad if they will take us to go see the Lego movie. but really that is about it.

Even though tiny chumley's little miss neighbor friends are busy with their new puppy, I've noticed the little misses have also been visiting tiny chumley more frequently lately.  Mostly I'd gather because sharing isn't always easy when there is only one leash to hold, and because sometimes a puppy needs to take a well deserved nap.  Ipso facto hello Baxter.

I used to be apprehensive about visits from the little misses, concerned that my crafty wonderland held its share of dangerous but very tempting things to touch like razor edged scissors and drills and torches and bits of metal and glass, and feeling after they had left that our house had been infiltrated by cute but very cunning candy pocketing gremlins.  I couldn't have been more wrong of course.  It was me, mostly.  Acting under the false impression that our little guests were meant to be obliged in their every desire and whim, when in fact they are children who need guidance and boundaries, as much as little four legged boys do.

So nowadays, when someone or sometwo come over, besides visiting with tiny chumley, there are things for them to do, some of them helpful work related things like stamping my etsy return address envelopes upside down topsy turvy, and others to bide the time in peaceful fashion, like drawing as little miss julia did on a makeshift table while I worked away on other things in the garage, while tiny chumley baked in my car in the driveway, all of us soaking in the sun that warmed our afternoon to a pleasant shorts wearing kind of Sunday.

This coming weekend, hopefully the little kielbasa and his new puppy friend will get a chance to play together now that she has gotten all her shots. 

 

But until then, all a little boy patiently sit by the front window and wait. :)

my new friend Cassie

dear diary, 

guess what! the little misses got a new puppy this past weekend and her name is Cassie. she is only three months old and already she is as big as me, only taller and fluffier. but not so big yet that the little misses cannot carry her around, which is kind of a relief because they used to always want to carry me. she so far has been very quiet and likes to eat bunny poop and pine cones and assorted floor junk, which is pretty cool for a girl.

now, I know what u r thinking, and I have been thinking about it too. but because she is a puppy and still has a lot to learn, I thought I would stand over there because I do not think she even knows where there is, much less here yet. plus this past weekend it was so nice out that mom backed her car out into our driveway and I turned it into a comfy and warm makeshift anti-cootiesphere. Cassie is going to the vet this week for her cootie shot by the way so maybe this weekend we can be in closer proximity and play together and I can show her the ropes for sniffing out bunnies and chasing squirrels.

anyhoo, I have to pack my lunchy lunch for school now so I will smell u later.

brooches & pooches

Yippee! I learned a lot from the brooch class I took last weekend.  The possibilities are one size fits all endless, I think.  And very dachshundable. Not that you might be able to tell that from these brooches I finished this past week, but hopefully patience will be rewarded.

Patience is something that tiny chumley has had to have had in abundance this past week, sweet little boy that he was waiting for me to finish sawing this or hammering that. Til finally, he senses I am done, and then he becomes larger than life. :)

mom, now that these pins are finished and u are waiting to get supplies to finish the other stuff we are working on, can we please go to the pet store and get my cootie vaccine booster? little miss sarah's mom said cassie might be ready to play with other dogs as soon as monday afternoon and that is tomorrow. :) :)

etsy fresh: some super cool new cards

Hello my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter.  Today I'm going to tell you about one the new cards I just put in my mom's etsy shop, because, well, mom said I cannot tell you about me and duk duk and chocobot and lulu the tiger and lil pink puppy's friday night stinkapolooza until after the stink is gone from the family room carpet.  Which might be a while, because it was that kind of super stink. And I can only tell you about one card because that is all I have time for.  On account of the stink abatement protocols, which went into effect at 19:00 hours yesterday night.  Because of stinkapalooza.

Anyhoo, this is my super cool new congratulations card, which has a very special surprise in it.  I will not spoil it here but if you clicky clicky here you can see the listing and see for yourself what's inside.  Needless to say, this would be a super card for, you know, times when u want to help someone celebrate an achievement, like, graduating from school, or saving up enough gummy worms to buy a new pedal car, or maybe they asked a special girl to stand over there and she said yes. Or maybe they got accepted into the secret stink society, or, they finally wrote their report on walruses! Or, maybe your friend got a promotion at work, or maybe they won the guess whose foofie super nationals, or well, u know, stuff.  Like how maybe me and duk duk and lulu the tiger and lil pink puppy finally got the stink our of our family room carpet.  Which will be an incredible accomplishment indeed.

Today a peekypoo at the things that will be keeping me and the little kielbasa busy this week.  Finishing brooches like this one from this past weekend's class, making progress on some experimental wienery goodies I've posted a peek or two previously on Instagram and Facebook...

    

...and doing all sorts of elf work to replenish old favorites and add new paper goods into the kalyxcraftopia shop, so that tiny chumley's happy little postcard can go out with each and every Etsy order.


hee hee hee,  mom, after school today, to help u take pictures of our new paper goodies, i will get all the fans in the house and point them at the sky, so we can blow away the clouds and bring the sunshine back.  do not start without me, okay?? :)

Tiny chumley's teeny tiny tattoo was given to him many months before we knew him, on that fateful day in his puppyhood when he was neutered and I guess it was important that he be tattooed with an N so that it would be known for all his days that he was, well, neutered.  But given how obvious that he was, well, neutered, I like to think his tattoo is really a Z turned sideways, left there by Zorro, marking all the little puppy boys who would grow up to be special little friends, living their days in an especially loving home. :)

hee hee, well mom, i just thought i would sit way over here in cootie land until my zoo breath calms down. but really, i promise my breath is not very stinky at all.  see? :) :)

while u were working

so, dad, yesterday while u were working,  me and mom went for a walkie with little miss Sarah, and then, we went into her backyard because we remembered her dad wanted me to sniff at a hole , and, it did not smell like anything but we hung around anyway, so I played the little misses' yard while mom and little miss Sarah were talking and well, even though the hole was nothing special, their yard still was because there was bunny poop everywhere! and, well, long story short, I ate some,and now mom says my breath smells like a zoo.
