dear diary,
even though i started off this week not so swell with a fizzy tummy, look at how lucky i got by the end of it!  yep, that's right, my friend oskar sent me bear biscuits! and yeah u know i could tell that package that came in the mail was 4 me.   me n duk duk cannot wait to try catching a bear with them, but just 2 be sure i had to taste test them to make sure they were going to work. and they were delicious!!  thank u so much oskar and miss alicia!

well diary, speaking of fizzy tummies i have 2 spend at least part of this weekend catching up on all the schoolwork i missed which is sort of a bummer because if we do catch a bear this weekend, well i guess duk duk will have to be very persuasive on his own about why the bear should stick around to join our circus act this year.

dapper doxie duds: penny for your thoughts

Well hello, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today from the ninth annual hat lady convention and garden party.   Hee hee, okay well no not really, even though I am wearing what looks to be a really swell hat, aren't I?

I am here to report to you today on something even cooler - the dud my mom made for my new friend Penny!  And besides me not really being able to fit Penny's new dud, there is a really good reason why Penny's new dud is on my head because you see, Penny and her mom n dad are behind the super fun site, stuffonmywiener.com!  So naturally I needed to model penny's dud on my wiener noggin, right?

Anyhoo, this is Penny.  She is lovely, isn't she? 

And here is a closer peek at her new dud!  My mom says it is made from a deep raspberry pink diamond weave mercerized cotton interlock bound in indigo denim and the flower is made from hand dyed silk satin mixed with an imported quilting cotton print and mixed iridescent glass beads and fresh water pearls. I say, I hope Penny will love it!

dapper doxie dud: the midnight sky

Hey everybuddy it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter reporting to you today about the goodies my mom finished yesterday for my friend Pinto. As u can see, Pinto is a very cool piebald and yeah u guessed it, he is actually close to my size, which is why I can actually model the dud my mom made for him.  I like to call this one the midnight sky, because the dyed corduroy my mom made and used reminds me of yeah u guessed it again, the midnight sky.  Only on this night the moon is full which is why you see glints of swirly lights and darks on the fabric and asymmetrical silk necktie embellishment  and of course, the vintage watch movement full moon!

Hee hee, oh yeah, did I also mention Pinto ordered up an Elmer Fudd Flapjack too? And yeah I can fit that too so here I am wearing it!  I am so very excited for Pinto because me n duk duk are going to take the pedal car today and drop it off at the post office and then he will have it in no time. 

Next up on the crafty list? My mom says the fabulous Penny's dud, and then after that she will be working on a ton of fit models so if u have been waiting patiently, thank u and know that I will be helping mom with everything these next couple to three weeks so stay tuned!

ooooh didjoo hear that, duk duk?  kona says your nephews can stay forever! yippeeeee!! oooh lil pink puppy is gonna be so happy to have his own little duk duk friends to play with. let's feed them some monkeychow milkshakes and then while they are gassing up we should write kona back and tell him that the three little dukkies arrived safe n sound.   :) :)

dapper doxie duds: feelin stitchy!

dear diary,
well it turns out u cannot get netflix via the telegraph like we were hopin, so the ride out west is long and slow and even though it is foofie filled, we can hardly wait to get off this train and walk on the dry sandy soil of my cousin jasper's ranch.  and hopefully find a real sandworm so we can ride it.

but anyhoo, as i have nothing really 2 report today bcuz we are still on the train, i thought i would show u the wonderful duds i helped my mom make for my friend stitch, a long haired chocolatey dapple who is not only getting a happy black and turquoise aqua sushi dud, but also these super duper ones!  and yeah as u might guess, stitch is a lot smaller than i am otherwise i would have modeled them all for u.

hee hee, yeah that's right, stitch was named after stitch, so of course he needed a stitch dud, right?

and even though we just celebrated the new year's arrival, can u believe there will be another new year coming up?  this time it will be the year of the dragon and wouldn'tchoo know that mom found a lovely embroidered silk robe back in chicago thinking the right pup would come along and need this turned into a harness and wouldn'tchoo that that right pup was stitch?  















and yep, this was the one that started it all.  bcuz when stitch's mom first contacted my mom she decided she wanted a very nice quilty dud for her boy and well, u know what they say about potato chips?  my dud drawer and now stitch's dud drawer is a testament to the fact thatchoo can't have just one.

mehopes u likey them very much stitch and i cannot wait to see u wearing them!!!

dapper doxie duds: quintin & jewel's deutscher duo

Hey everybuddy, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today about the happy duds my mom just finished for my friends Quintin and Jewel.  My friend Quintin is the doxie on the right and his family are fans of the German National football team (that's Die deutsche Fußballnationalmannschaft in case u were wondering).  So Quintin's mom and my mom thought that Quintin could use a little something sporty and since the team's regular white uniform wasn't very practical for a doxie dud,  mom decided to to use one of Michael Ballack's curvy pieced red jerseys for inspiration and even included a little reflective piping so Quintin can stand out at a night game. Super cool, right? I would have modeled it for u but mom says there is a reason she calls me her little kielbasa and not her little vienna sausage.  I say...yeah, it didn't fit me even when I held my breath.  But here it is!

  And looky! I can fit Quintin's sister Jewel's dud! And me so likey cuz it has squirrels and deer on them and it has piping that mom made expecially for it and it has buttons and it is made from a nice red cotton pique and it reminds me of a very happy german fairy tale just like the one I read with lil pink puppy the other night. U know, the one with the deer n squirrels in it and the forest with the magic kibble tree that grants three wishes?  

Anyhoo, mehopes that Quintin and Jewel will enjoy their new duds very much and me also hopes that u enjoyed seeing them as much as I enjoyed reporting about them. This is Baxter your roving rover reporter wishing u a very happy Thursday! :)

mom, what do u mean lulu is going home today?? lil pink puppy was going 2 take her to show n tell 2morrow and chocobot and she are going to play bridge with his friends on wednesday and duk duk n me already cast her in our next play as the amazing xena princess warrior and u know if she does not do it i will have to and we haven't even gone thru the chik-fil-a drive thru yet or anything!

snackies in the park

dear diary,
yippee skippee it was such a nice day out yesterday that not only did i get to show lulu the pet store where mom and dad get my kibble, but we went for a nice long walkie in a park that I have never been to before and we had a really swell time.

now, diary, it is only six o'clock in the evening as i write this because i wanted to finish before 2nite's pupjama party starts so i cannot tell u yet how much fun we had after our park walkies and pet store visit but i can tell u that while we were gone duk duk and chocobot went to the game store to pick up a certain wii that was being repaired on account of u know who spilling monkey chow milkshake all over it and yeah u know what we will be doing 2nite - minus the monkey chow milkshakes that is.

anyhoo, with any luck by the time u r reading this we will be on level 1956493 of scooby doo n shaggy's super haunted magic mystery bus adventures so if u need anything, it might have to wait until after we walk thru the hall of golden arches and find the magic key of mystery.

heads and tails

With the recent rains having stirred up so many things for two little dachshunds to investigate in the backyard yesterday,  I hardly could catch a glimpse of anything other than little sniffing heads and waggy tails wandering one way or the other, crisscrossing about til finally it was time to go back inside and rest, and wait for Baxter's appointment with the tushie man. :o

kitty perch built for two

Two tuckered tushies spent a little quiet time on the kitty perch yesterday afternoon, recharging after a rather wakey wakey pupjama party night and happy bark-ophonous morning.

mom, can u please wake us up from our kitty naps if u see the snackie man and his truck coming?  i so want 2 get everybuddy some fresh n fishy pupcakes for our twister party 2nite! :)

hee hee, yep this is me and my friend lulu and yippee she will get to stay with us for a few days and so u know we are having a pupjama party only this picture was taken before we put our jammies on. mom says she is not sure what it is when doxies get together but they always seem hungrier when they are in a pack and that might explain why we spent a lot of the evening looking at her like this. well until we figured boo hoo we were not getting any xtra snackies for the night. 

anyhoo, lucky 4 me with lulu here mom said i do not have 2 go to school and so today methinks if it is not raining and after she and lil pink puppy n chocobot play glitter barbie beauty school then maybe i will show her all the new holes i made in the backyard and maybe we can make some new ones.

dapper doxie duds: jasper the friendly pup's playduds and retro gent duds

Yippee, today a peekypoo at the happy little pair of duds I finished yesterday for Jasper, whose mom knew that all work and no play makes Jasper a dull boy.  Which is why methinks her special little boy not only will have a nice new dapper retro happy little gent dud complete with removable vintage silk bowtie, but also a cheery owl dud made from fabric picked especially by his mom for her sweet little boy, all in colors that will complement his light and lovely complexion.

tiny chumley, of course, was happy to help model Jasper's duds, working for his usual little itty bitty smidgens of snackies until his nose found out he could do better.

Yippee! Even though IKEA has yet to restock the shelving I so desperately need to make the makey life a little easier,  it's been a crafty week.  Today, a peekypoo at a very special birthday hat that Ammo's mom commissioned for her amazing little boy . Can u say birthday party? 

ooo, mom! ammo's birthday is really soon. do u think they need monkey chow milkshakes for it?  cuz methinks if i start making them now duk duk can fly it up just in time to play pin the foofies on the puppy!! :)

dapper doxie duds: blues clues

Hello! My name is Baxter your roving reporter reporting to u today after wrapping up my modelling shoot for my mom's latest dapper doxie dud for my friend and Annie's new chocolatey dapple brother Blue.  Pardon the voiceover, cuz I am still a little nakey cuz mom hasn't put my collar back on. But in the meanwhile I thought U might enjoy seeing what Blue looks like.  Blue was adopted back in March but he was so skinny that his mom decided he needed a little fattening up before my mom made him his dud, and lo and behold he is just perfect now and now he has his very own dud!

Mom says his duds were made with neckties from all sorts of different decades, going as far back as the 50s and 60s and 70s and 80s and into the present.  I say, I think this will look swell on Blue, dontchoo?

dapper doxie duds: happily ever after

Yippee! Today a sneaky peeky at some duds finished just in time for  Bogey and Remy to attend the third annual Stafford Oktoberfest Wiener Dog Race in royal style. First up, and modelled by tiny chumley, Bogey's turquoise and scarlet cape, made with rich shimmery velvet and complete with bullion embroidered kingly crests and antiqued brass chain.

And next up, everyone knows a knight needs a suit of armor.  But you say he has to race, too? No worries, cuz this is a faux chainmaille and studded leather harness and collar, sleekly cut and bound in tropical weight charcoal gray wool so Bogey can race like the wind.


oooh leather studded dud and collar? mom, how come i do not have one of these either??

And for the little princess Remy? A tiara, of course, and sparkly hand sequined and beaded and lace appliqued removable butterfly wings.  To match her gilded lace and pleated jacquard ribbon harness, bound in  turquoise silk dupioni. And to match her removable ballgown skirt.  Because princess butterflies need to race too

my wooty wednesday

dear diary,
yippee! even though mom's studio is not back in order,  mom said since these past few days have been so gray n cloudy that maybe we could make a little sunshine of our own by opening one of the packages that came for us while she was gone and guess what -  she was right! cuz looky - i helped open a package from miss amy and jasper and not only did  it have jasper's fit model but it had tons of stuff just 4 me !! mom said i was beaming so much she almost had to put her sunglasses on.  i said, i wish she did because then maybe she would have been so busy she would not have noticed me trying to snitch a snackie before i took my thank u picture. 

anyhoo, i am so excited about my goodies, i think i will bring them to show n tell 2morrow - okay well maybe not the snackies cuz teacher says we have to share what we bring, but definitely my new toy because we can take turns playing tug o war! which teacher i am sure will like better than the guess whose foofie game she made us stop playing yesterday on account of how dizzy we were all getting from all those doozies.  methinks teacher does not understand that that getting dizzy is all part of the fun!
