tidings of wooty and glee: teeny tiny doxie treasure boxes :)

Why hello my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today in the first installment my new reporting series, Tidings of Wooty and Glee, featuring the latest and greatest stuff that me and duk duk are helping put into my mom's etsy shop.  Like these here teeny tiny treasure boxes my mom finally finished, the last batch of the year and just in time for holiday gift giving!
And  guess what - this time, there boxes with doxies of all sorts of coat colors - dark dark ones and medium deep copper red ones and bright ones and speckledy ones even one that sort of has a wheateny gold color!

And, as if that isn't good news enough, guess what - teeny tiny treasure boxes are now available for
my international friends! In fact, me and duk duk decided that until we start posting the second litter, (hopefully soony soon!) the first litter of six will only be available internationally, to give my international friends a chance catch up and save on shipping and still get their packages in time for holiday gift giving.

Tiny chumley and I were busy working on teeny tiny treasure boxes yesterday, and although it will probably be a week or two before they are ready to find new homes, a certain little helper elf and his demanding tummy required at least partial payment for a job partially done :)

hee hee, mom, u know me and my tummy work on a pay as u go system.  it's in our contract! :)

Hee hee, okay, so I'm not really into the ghoul and gore and rubber smell of Halloween.  But I do love an opportunity to dress up our little sausagey friends, and I have feeling that you just might too.

Hee hee why hello again friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter reporting to you today about the new paper goodies in my mom's Etsy shop that I promised I would tell you about yesterday when I told you about our new budgety calendar for 2014 .  First up is my super cool new arty arty Christmas card, awesome because it's u know, arty in an I like MoMA sort of way.  And it's still a doxie, which is really important because who does not like a doxie, right?  Especially a red nosed one. And it is available as a card single or a  5 pack.

My next card is not only super cute but super cool, because I helped mom design it so u can send it to practically everybuddy and not just at Christmas because it is a happy holidays card.  So u can send it for Christmas or Hanukkah or Festivus or anything! And who wouldn't love receiving tidings of cheer and good fun?  This  supercool card is also available as a single and as a 5 pack and if u look closely at what i am wearing on my head, mom says she is working to put some of those in the etsy shop too so stay tuned!!

And finally, new to the Christmas/New Year section of my mom's etsy shop, it's the first in a collection of cool cartoon cards that me and duk duk are hoping to design all by ourselves.  We decided to start with a new year's card because well, if u r anything like us, sometimes Hannukah and Christmas and Festivus and such come up so fast on you that u run out of time to send out cards and so yippety doo, why not just send out new year's cards because then u have not only all of December to send them, but January too?  You can find out more about what our card says and even get your card single by clicky clickying here.



And I know, my friends, here I am talking about Christmas and stuff and it is not even October yet.  But I know some of you like to plan ahead and get while the getting's good, which is why I thought I would report about it now.  And to remind anybuddy thinking about ordering a custom print card with say custom wording, or say order something in bulk, now thru mid October is really the time for us to work together on that by convoing me on Etsy.  Because you know, everybuddy gets busy during the holiday season and why spend all that time worrying or expediting when we could just take care of it now?

Okay, enough about December holidays, it's not even October yet right?  So let me just close my report by saying I have no idea yet what I will be for Halloween this year, but I sure hope it will be as scary as my Halloween Boo card.  Or maybe I should try for cute again, u know, homieween style.  Hmmm...hmmmmm....

Extra! Extra! Poop all about it! Hee hee, hello my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today about my super duper new desk calendar that I just helped put in my mom's etsy shop.  Yup, it's all brand new for 2014, and I thought I would tell you about it now because the sooner u get it, the sooner you'll have it, right?  And it will mean less stuff for u and me both to worry about, like if it will get there in time or if mom runs out.  You know, stuff that always happens if u wait too long.  And believe me, I know all about that.  Only lucky for you, you do not have to write a walrus report. Still.

Anyhoo, if u promise not to peek already, because some people like to plan early and get the pick of the pick, tomorrow I will show you a few other holiday goodies that I put into the shop. And one of them in particular was designed especially by me and duk duk. I wonder if you will be able to guess which one.

hee hee, what a great idea to turn ourselves into wood today, duk duk!  now not only do we not have to worry about our walrus report, but nobuddy will recognize us and we can skip school and everything!! there's just one test we have to pass before the bus comes and...

ooo here it is - mom's coming! quick - places everyone - operation little statues is now under way!! and remember, no sounds, no stink, no nothing til the coast is clear!!

hark hark! all packed up and ready to bark!

Somepuppy's ears made it abundantly clear yesterday that their owner, a certain little sausagey boy,  was quite displeased with the way things were going yesterday.  


first of all, his ears flicked as his body wedged between me and the table legs next to us,  how come i am not in any of these pictures u r taking for etsy? it is my job to model, u know.  and not only do we enjoy it, but my tummy and i take our job, and payment in full, very very seriously.

and second of all, ears still flicking one after the other with a little cartoon scribble cloud looking over his head,  growing scribblier and scribblier,  if i am not going to be in any of these pictures nor can i smell, touch, or taste any of these super cool teeny tiny doxie treasure boxes that you will be posting to our etsy shop on tuesday, then cantchoo set up and find proper daylight somewhere that at least does not block the way to my lookout perch? if i cannot do my modeling job, then i can at least still do my job as valiant protector of our home and lands, keeping us safe from dangerous marauders and bunnies and squirrels. but this i cannot accomplish without first seeing them. and to see them means i need to be over there not stuck right here.

third of all, and related to number two, how can i  hardly not be in the way if ...wait, what's that mom? really? my turn now? yippeee!! (clank clank bang clash clank!) okay, when we are done i totally promise to help u load all these pretty boxes to etsy tomorrow!! and don't forget, payment in full is due at time of services rendered.  :) :)

etsy fresh: pip pip congratulations graduation card

Well ello ello ello! It's me, Baxter Enrique Longfoofieshanks,  esquire,  here speaking to yous in me best British accent because oi wants to tell you and all me mates about a very special card that oi've just put in me mum's Etsy shop.  It's a congratulations card, but not just any congratulations card, mind you, but one for very special occasions.  The kind that can make a fella or a loidy want to shout, "Gadzooks, you did it -  that's absolutely fabulous! egad and pip pip ol man (or girl)! and you even managed without the aid of a lucky unicorn. i'm over the moon!" Only you see, as an aspiring British gentleman, oi came across a word for that that Brits use all the time, and it's "brilliant".  Which is wonderful because oi didn't really have enough space on the front of the card to say all that.   So anyhoos, oi hope you enjoy this card or can think of someone ooo might, loik say a recent graduate from school or someone ooo just made an addition to their family, or maybe that special someone ooo just moide their longest poopie snoike ever.  All these occasions and more, all deserving of a nice pat on the head and a big big "well done!".   Well, that's all for now cuz oi think it's time to do a little celebratin fer me own, roit? Hooray, just in time for Mother's Day!  Sometime this weekend I promise I'll be loading the happy litter of doxie necklaces I just finished to the kalyxcraftopia Etsy shop, but I couldn't wait to share a picture of the finished little goodies.

Tiny chumley, of course, was a super helper in his own way,  keeping me company when he could this week, except for the times when, well, he couldn't...

gee, mom,  i know i said i really wanted to keep you company when it would be safe to do so while you are here in the garage, but, well, now thatchoo gave me a busy bone, may i please go inside now?  i think i would enjoy this much more if i do not have to worry about the hawks and crows stealing it from me :) :)

i am sorry i do not have much time to write today but i am busy practicing chasing bunnies for reasons i cannot divulge completely yet.

in other news, i am very excited about watching doctor who tonight and in honor of tonight's premiere i thought i would show u how things are progressing with the doctor who dud that my friend murphy ordered from my mom.  it was pretty much done, but there were a few accessories that mom wanted to make.  like  the timey wimey pocket locket that my mom finally finished as an optional accessory!  and yes if murphy decides to get it, i am pretty sure he is gonna have to promise not to touch it because like me, even though he might like to watch doctor who on television, he probably really does not have enough time to listen to him in person. 

oh, and there is one more optional accessory that mom made this past week, and that is the time wimey kinda chameleon pin, good for time traveling dogs and humans alike!  something tells me i am going to need my very own doctor who dud, because these accessories are super cool!!

anyhoo diary, i really must get back to operation bunny bun bun so hope u r having a wonderful saturday!!

fashion sunday: the week in makey make review

Oh, okay, is this thing on? Hello, my name is Baxter and you might already know me through my blog, facebook, or  twitter.   I am not a stinky girl, but I play one sometimes in stories like you've been following. And I sometimes do it to help my mom when she has made things that I need to model. And today, we are taking a break from our story because I have many things to model.  Here, let me show you...

This is the dud my mom just finished for my friend moxie's order.  Moxie is chocolate dapple girl whose fashion inspiration comes from royalty.  New royalty that is, because before  prince willam's wife married him and became the duchess of cambridge, she was plain ol kate middleton.  Who wasn't really plain or old really, just fresh and modern, simply styled and feminine without being too frou frou.  And so moxie's dud needed to be like that too.

Behind the scenes this past week, my mom also finished the duds ordered by my friends Penny and Leroy.  This time Penny wanted a play dud made from a pretty bubblegum pink princess crown print that she picked out herself, and she wanted ruffles too, so after i helped mom look for the perfect trim and coordinating fabrics to match,  I helped her make it! And model it of course!

 Now, if your sister has a princess play dud , what do you think you should have if you were her brother?  Yup, you guessed it, a piratey play dud, because how else are you going to be able to place princess and pirate together?

And can u keep a secret, my friends?  Because I can tell you these duds are very fun to play in and you can even add things from your very own closet - like ohhh...

a pretty purple flower crown so you can sit by the window and watch the butterflies and airplanes fly by with your very best friend...

or, soon-to-be-fresh in mom's etsy shop,  a super cool pirate hat so you can arrrrrrrr the seven seas! (I hope to help mom put them on etsy Etsy early this week starting maybe even as early as tonight so be on the lookout for the red alert doot doot dooty doot!)

unfinished business

Today the little kielbasa has a very busy and fun day planned, but I thought I'd take a moment to share a  random peek at part of what's been going behind the scenes this past week, when I skipped a few blogging days to gain some extra crafty time and make more progress on all things makey.  Like putting together dud combinations, finding trims and fabrics and sending out samples and pictures, and finishing up some jewelry I had started in my beginning metals class but was unable to finish until now, which will one day make it to etsy, hopefully in time for mother's day gifting. :)

oooh mom, between all the work you did and all my studying, i think this week we need to celebrate with a little me and u time, dontchoo think? :)

Yippee! The rain and clouds may have deterred my ability to sew this past week, but it didn't stop tiny chumley and me from finishing up some happy new goodies for the kalyxcraftopia Etsy shop.  Etched and riveted copper doxie necklaces on oxidized sterling silver chain that I had originally hoped to finish and post in time for the Christmas holidays, are now ready for their forever home this Valentine's day.  They have been blessed by a little dog and duk who swear their spell also imbues the fortunate wearer with very important Valentine's Day cootie protection.

Also new to the shop and hoping to spread cheer and love one pocket and lunchbox at a time, super cute itty bitty teeny tiny valentines also make their debut.  Offered as tiny blank card singles and as a happy little set , these tiny cards have a million and one uses, including keeping a certain little somebuddy very busy..













oh yipppee - me sized valentine's day cards!  hmmm, hmmmmm.  what to write and to whom...  well, i know i wanna give my grampa and gramma one, and my other gramma and my other grampa and gramma, and o, mom and dad of course, and duk duk and chocobot and lil pink puppy, and o all my aunties and uncles, and all the pupscouts in my troop and hmmm, hmmmm... well, maybe i will think of more after i get started.  :):)

Hello friends! Just wanted to pop in for a moment and share the latest happy addition to the etsy shop - the long awaited 8 days of dachshund holiday mixed set!   As time permits,  hopefully sook I'll be working on another special edition blank card note set so stay tuned. :)

PS - my dad is doing much better but is still hospitalized. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers. I honestly believe they made all the difference in the world. I haven't had a chance to catch up yet on messages, but know I appreciate them all and they are an especially bright spot in my day. Happy week before Thanksgiving! :)

etsy fresh: it's beginning to look a lot like christmas!

Well hello, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, reporting to you today on a very unususal but very welcome arrival to my house - Christmas! You see some of the goodies I have been helping my mom work on have finally arrived from the printers and yep u guessed it, I am very happy to show you two new additions to my collection of Christmas cards on Etsy this year.  Do you want to see?

This is the tidings of comfort and joy card.  I think it will be good for everybuddy, but especially those who u know, need or want to send comfort and joy this year.  And it is red and for some reason, there do not seem to be a lot of lovely red Christmas cards out there, especially ones with dachshunds on them done in a fresh modern and simple way :)

Hee hee hee, and this is me, enjoying the merry in merry christmas and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas to All, and to all a good night! I like this card too because it is you know, Christmas without being too Christmas and the colors are super cool.  And who can resist santa's little doxie with a red nose enjoying his megasaurus rawhide bone after a long night of delivering presents? :)

And last but not least, ta daah -  it's baaaaack, and all new for 2013 - the tiny chumley tiny budgety desk calendar!  I asked mom if we could get an early start and make then now because really September will just fly by and so will October and next thing u know, it will be Thanksgiving and then there will be only two weeks before Christmas and who knows how busy the post office will be especially if u live far away and why worry when you can just get yours now and put it in a safe place and even have time to get more if you decide to give away or keep the one you get now ?
