dear diary,
some say duks have all the luck but after yesterday i think unicorns have all the luck too cuz checky checky who chocobot is friends with  - circus bears! and i know because they came to visit us yesterday cuz they had not heard from chocobot in a while and then he explained how we caught him for unicorn appreciation day and how he had so much fun that he decided to stay a while and how he would have called to tell everybuddy he was going to be gone for a while but the day we caught him he had gone out without his phone cuz it was still charging and he smelled glitter and well nothing gets between a unicorn and glitter right and then he asked how they found him and they said that all they had to do was follow the trail of glittery poo and we all laughed.  because it is so true.  and then lil pink puppy looks into their cart and says hey is that a circus cannon? and mama accordion bear said yes and starts to cry a little because she said they have not been able to put on a circus for weeks because guitar bear hurt his foot and could not be in the cannon and nobuddy wants to come see a circus without a circus cannon and before she says another word we all see a flash of pink and green before our eyes and then we see this!

let's put on a show! said lil pink puppy from inside the cannon.

and of course everybuddy thought it was a swell idea and mama accordion bear was so happy she stopped crying and after me n duk duk drew straws to see who would get to do the trapeze act and after agreed that i would get to be the lion and he could be the lion tamer, we helped unpack the circus bears' wagon and put on our costumes and next thing u know we were all pretty much set up for our very own circus!!

hee hee, yeah u know what we are going to be doing today diary.  step right up ladies and gentlemen to the greatest show on earth!! :)

everybuddy knows u do not pass up a watermelon snackie opportunity

dear diary,
mom says no matter where she looks, she always manages to find something that reminds her of me.  which i guess is why she came home from her bizcation thifty store adventures with a super cool toy dog n duk  (hee hee, remind u of anybuddies?), a roly poly circus bear, a softball, and a giant letter b.   all things i cannot wait to share with duk duk n chocobot n lil pink puppy because we were just talking about playing roly poly circus bear softball tag during recess tomorrowbut seeins how we did not have a roly poly circus bear or a softball or the letter B or a super cool toy dog n duk to serve as goalies, all we would  really be doin is talking and not playin if u know what i mean.  til now that is, now that we have everything to play it with.  well, now after i finish my watermelon snackie.  because watermelon snackies are yummy and everybuddy knows u do not pass up a watermelon snackie oppportunity.  even if it means roly poly circus bear softball tag must wait.  but do not worry diary, i will be finished soon and u can play with us too if u want! just be sure to meet us by mister turtle's secret playground hideout and bring your own oven mitt. i cannot wait til recess!!  :)

baxter and duk duk's amazing circus show: the great snackie toss

dear diary,
well even though chocobot does not know when his circus bear friends are coming back to town, me n duk duk thought it would be a great idea to start developing new act and games for our circus. and u know how there is always a ring toss at the circus midway?  well we thought why not make it one better and make it a snackie toss!  so of course yeah u know we had to practice that game yesterday.  here is a video from our first practice training sessions (and yeah u can even watch it in HD if u want - just clicky on the gear to change the viewing quality!)

hee hee, yeah i am so hoping to improve on my personal best and mom says so long as me n duk duk do not post any more poopie pictures to facebook then she would be happy to train with us every day at lunch. yippee!! toodley-doo! b. :)

and now ladeeez and gentlemen if i may direct your attention way up high to the very top of the tent you will see a little pink ball of fuzz standing at the top of  a very tall ladder! and one you lock eyes on this mysterious sight, prepare yourselves to be dazzled and amazed as lil pink puppy the magnificent closes our circus with the most daring and breathtaking stunt you will have ever seen - the one and only double duper super looper circus high dive!










hee hee, u might want to stand back for this.  lil pink puppy may be small but he makes a really really large sploosh!

yippee! next year if chocobot's circus bear friends visit us again, me totally hopes that my friend madwilly can also join us cuz looky - besides going 2 the lake to fish for gummy worms bcuz duk duk's family is visting us for thanksgiving, madwilly and i have been working on our very own jumping act!  and duk duk thinks we might be able to incorporate flames which will make everything super super cool, right?

trunk show

Dear Diaree,
Eet eez day deux ere een zee Arkteek and zee weather has not gotten anyee better. My crew and I sit ere eeen zee deserted chalet hoping that our luggage will arrive but, alas, no word eez given. Luckilee, Duk Duk has found a trunk of goods from zee last expedition when we set free a circus seal. As zee seal would be at sea and no longer would he need zee trappings of societee, Samee ze Seal left behind his belongings. I feel like I am one of zee Village Peoples een zees shirt, but at least eet eez warm and fits me, so I do not mind wearing eet. Zee crew plans to hold a fashion show later on when eet eez dark.

Well I must go and radio again zee FedEx peoples to see about zee luggage. I wish you all a day that eez as oblong as it eez magnifique.

practice makes perfect

dear diary,
yippee! even though me, duk duk, chocobot n lil pink puppy at all the popcorn and cotton kibble before our show started, our circus was a big hit!  but wait, we figured, there's got to be more.  so me n duk duk decided it should be even more danger doomy and so i am practicing a new trick - walking the pirate plank!  well, it would be a pirate plank if only my mom would let me paint it and put chains on it and stuff  but boo hoo we are only borrowing something from my mom's display stuff and she says the people at bucktown might not understand why there is a pirate plank with purses on it in her and auntie robin's booth.  i say, arrrrrrrrgh!  but that is okay, cuz me n duk duk have a spectacular backup plan and not to give it away or anything but let's just say right now he is searching the internet for a place that will sell fireworks to a dog or a duk.  because, well i am a dog and duk duk is a duk.  and chocobot and lil pink puppy are too little to buy fireworks.

anyhoo even though we do not have the fireworks yet, methinks i will practice more with my mom's help.  want 2 watch?

rideys with baxter: o the places we could go!

Hello my friends, it's me, Baxter, your roving rover reporter, filling in for my mom all this week while she's battling the itchies off and on.  Today and for the next few days, I want to tell you all about the fun I had a ver special event I attended.  Which I had no idea I was going to till we got there.

In fact, for a while there, I was all, hey, where are we going? are we going to the circus so i can smell some elephant poop?  ooh, or maybe the zoo so i can smell some elephant poop! or maybe the farm so i can smell some cow poop and if i am lucky and nobuddy is looking, i can roll in it! 

but... even though that all would be fun..  hmmmm..hmmmmm...is this car ridey a good idea?  because any day now our walrus is coming and i still have yet to finish digging his hole in my backyard...

but lucky for me, once we got there and the car door opened, I sniffed in the air and knew that this was going to be a good place to be :)

Tomorrow I will tell you exactly where I went and share with you some of the super sights and sounds I encountered so I hope you will visit me again tomorrow!  This is Baxter your roving rover reporter, wishing you a very merry Monday!! :) :)

my friend mario: bubble trouble

hey everybuddy, whatchoo lookin at? is mario doing that cool thing again where he stares atchoo and puffs his cheeks up? i really hope he can come visit again when the circus bears come to town again cuz that would be such a cool thing to add to our sideshow.

so many bubbles! and they were not here just a couple of days ago.

 lil pink puppy, u did not put any bubble bath in mario something something something obi wan kenobi's bowl, didjoo?


and duk duk, u did not...u know, make bubbles in there either, right?

and chocobot was with me playing thunderpoops n ladders all day so hmmmmmm.....


 maybe mario ate too much monkey chow munchies and foofied up his own water!!

do not worry, mario something something obi wan kenobi, the scene is safe! i am going getchoo some of my emergency pepcid and soon your tummy will be as good as new. 

come on duk duk, chocobot, n lil pink puppy, i am going to need all your help to open the drawer under the washer where mom keeps my medicine because even though it is very low it is very heavy.

dear diary,
even though i started off this week not so swell with a fizzy tummy, look at how lucky i got by the end of it!  yep, that's right, my friend oskar sent me bear biscuits! and yeah u know i could tell that package that came in the mail was 4 me.   me n duk duk cannot wait to try catching a bear with them, but just 2 be sure i had to taste test them to make sure they were going to work. and they were delicious!!  thank u so much oskar and miss alicia!

well diary, speaking of fizzy tummies i have 2 spend at least part of this weekend catching up on all the schoolwork i missed which is sort of a bummer because if we do catch a bear this weekend, well i guess duk duk will have to be very persuasive on his own about why the bear should stick around to join our circus act this year.

the squirrel outside my door

I normally blog with hardly any purpose at all, other than to share the sunshiney kielbasa love. But sometimes everyday life is pre-empted by matters of more pressing concern.  This picture was actually taken almost exactly a year ago, but the timing of Baxter's fortuitous squirrely encounter clashed mightily with what was weighing heavily on my and everyone's mind at the time.  And so this picture patiently waited to be seen, as we so patiently waited last year for news of Joey and his recovery.

ooooh i remember dat squirrel. he stretched himself so flat on our sidewalk it was like he was a piece of paper!  do u think he might still be out there?  becuz if he wants 2 work for monkey chow milkshakes, i think the bears have a job for him at the circus!

happy year of the dragon

dear diary,
so, did i ever tell u that chocobot is friends with a dragon?  and that his name is chester mcfoofie and besides the obvious reasons why we might want to invite him to stay with us, did i tell u that we were also having a chinese new years celebration yesterday and with it being the year of the dragon he was the guest of honor and we had a great time eating fish snackies and monkey chow noodles and watching him set off firecrackers just by breathing on them? and did i tell u that he outfoofied us all to the point where even i had to open a window 2 get some fresh air?   hoo-wee.  and did i tell u that chester promised to come back when the circus bears are in town so we can have a fire breathing act like all the best circuses have? yep, i didn't think i told u.  but now i did!

doot doot dooty dooty doot doot doo doo! yippee! mom said since is super hot out that chocobot's circus bear friends could stay as long as they wanted to and of course we have been having so much fun that the bears said yes thank u.  so to help the bears with their show we have been watching bugs bunny and scooby doo cartoons to come up with even more fun new attractions besides walking the pirate plank.  u know, stuff that can involve the audience. like this. do u know what it is?



yep, it is the weight guessing game!  only so far i can only guess how many kibble u weigh but it is even better because we decided u can win whether i guess your weight right or not. and what do u win?  why a poopie snake of your choice course!  which reminds me, i should really make some more before the crows come tonight.
